I'm new to this game and all the aliens are hostile.

I don't even understand the point of the aliens, do you need them for anything?

No, Killing Zirak will raise rep with Talon and Pol and looting their POI's yield good stuff.

Personally I like everyone hostile to me. It makes the survival part of the game more interesting. You can loot the bodies of aliens for various goods. But the faction system is new and still being balanced. It'll improve over time. You can trade with friendly factions.

Getting your status to Friendly or Honored with a faction will allow you to mine without consequences.

Easiest way to get faction status with polaris is do some of the repeatable "find ore deposit" and "kill drones" missions which are worth 1000 points each. Otherwise just keep shooing every zirax thing you see and that will give you + points with polaris and zirax.

The only probablem with having everyone hostile to you is that you won't be able to sell stuff to the traders and buy some stuff that is most easily obtained by buying, such as medical supplies. If you make weapons and EVA Boosts and sell them to the traders then you get plenty of money to buy medical supplies that are too much trouble to make yourself. (You can also buy autominer cores but you can get lots of those from the rare loot containers in alien artifacts and towers.)

I don't know if you can trade with Zirax yet so I don't know how much point there is in being on their good side, and they probaly still have more loot than other factions.

Their drones and turrets don't shoot you, wich is really nice in the early game.

Otherwise i would like to see some Zirax Traders in the Future.

Looking forward to see how this adds to and affects Empyrion.

From Empyrion Forum:

- Aliens ( default faction for all the "always bad" guys; it is always hostile and you cannot change/influence the standing towards this faction; Will be refered to as "The Legacy" for future Story implemenation - but not yet added

Its just a Name change, nothing more. Well at least they aren't just called "Aliens" anymore(soon).

Its listed as a 4th faction unless I am misinterpreting their post.

- Zirax Empire (the former "always bad guys")
- Talon (the natives)
- Polaris (A company with a monopol on machines & mining)
- Aliens ( default faction for all the "always bad" guys; it is always hostile and you cannot change/influence the standing towards this faction; Will be refered to as "The Legacy" for future Story implemenation - but not yet added
