The Entity is Cancer

Now hear me out, I'm not meaning this as the synonym to "toxic" or anything. I literally mean that the Entity is the disease Cancer.

I'm stretching a bit and grasping and straws when I say this, and I'm probably dead wrong, but it's fun to think about.

I say this because I recently saw the video "quand c'est?", a music video by Stromae for one of his songs. The song is about cancer and how it is inescapable.

Interestingly enough, this does predate Dead by Daylight, and how cancer is depicted in the music video reminds me a lot of how the Entity looks in the game.

Of course this could be unrelated, but he is a French singer and if I'm not mistaken the dev team are mostly French Canadians, so it is possible they are fans of him.

I just thought this was a fun little thought experiment people could play with. Think about it though, Cancer is a very painful disease and often times it leads to hope of survival, but sadly many people die every year from it, despite hope and their best efforts. One could even say cancer feeds on hope, as does the Entity. What if all of the Survivors and Killers are victims of it, or they could be alive but the game is a representation of their struggle with cancer.

For example, what if Ace did all of his crazy gambling in order to pay off his insane medical bills? Speaking of bills, what if we rethink Bill's sacrifice from L4D, not because he's old, but because he knows he suffers from this ailment, likely from his years of smoking.

Just a fun little thought I had and felt like sharing it. Feel free to add to this or post your thoughts. It's all in fun.

This is true. But as in the video, Cancer claims the victims soul and holds on to it.

I feel like there is at least a bit of inspiration from this.

First the tenticle things look like the Entity then the icing on the cake was how it killed the person, stabbed, lifted and they floated off just like how they die in the game.

I kind of doubt Ace did the gambling to pay off his medical bills, personally. I mean, it's a valid theory, but I imagine it might be him self-destructing and going for the only kind of thrill he's capable of experiencing in his current state, with any potential of being able to pay the bills (assuming that will save him) being a happy side-thought.

Or at least that's my alternative head-canon, if we're going for this whole Cancer thing.
