Hey Linux guys,

We are ready to proceed with the Linux test, please do the following:

OPEN LINUX (Ubuntu 12.04 and higher or an other Debian / Fedora derivated OS)
OPEN STEAM
RIGHT CLICK ON STASIS
SELECT PROPERTIES
SELECT THE BETAS TAB (FAR RIGHT)

ENTER IN THE CODE:
torvalds1969

CLICK CHECK CODE
THE CODE WILL ENABLE linux test 1 IN THE DROP DOWN BOX
SELECT linux test 1
CLICK CLOSE
CLICK INSTALL (STASIS)
STASIS INSTALL SHOULD BE ±3 GIGS
CLICK NEXT AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
ONCE INSTALLED CLICK PLAY

I have not played through the entire Linux Steam build of the game yet - I also getting a bit of a choppy frame-rate on parallels, so please play a few minutes of the PC or MAC version if you can to test out how it should play.

I am not entirely sure we will support this platform as the technicalities are an issue. I hope it plays well and you can confirm it is decent enough for release.

First person to finish the game on Linux gets a prize :)

NOTE:

Minimum requirements for ALL Linux Platforms:
x86_64 (which means an 64 Bit OS)

Steam:
Steam has already openAL and openGL drivers installed.

All other platforms:
openGL (GPU Driver)
openAL (the user must install openAL manually)

Wait a minute, you expect people to buy the game first without knowing how good Linux support is going to be? We got burned too many time man, by too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ports, make an open beta or you won't get enough data from Linux users.

I think you'll find that this beta is for people who are already onboard. Hold your money and your grumbles until it's released.

Very very cool!
Just bought it and installed it.

First impression, game runs well on my Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS, GTX 670 (driver 355.11), Intel C2Q Q9550, 8 GB. All the time at about 60 FPS.
The intro is a bit sloppy though, 25 FPS and the sound has some pops every seconds.

Key has arrived. Now to wait a couple of hours for my Australian internets to finish downloading it \o/

When the game's released for Linux users, I'll buy a copy from your site :)

An issue I seem to have is, that the dialogs with the girl over radio are interrupted or not properly starting. John was talking some stuff when walking through the tram station, which sounded like answers to some questions: "It's quiet, but I can hear you", "I'm at the tram station". But I didn't see any questions.
Shortly after she just says: "That's the plan". That's all I heard from her. Then a big door opens.
I guess there was something missing for me.

Depending on how Steam is configured on your system, there may be terminal output stored in /tmp/dumps/your_steam_username_stdout.txt - are there any indications in there of what may have happened?
