DOOM
30-40 fps with GTX 960M?
So I am trying to play this game on my laptop, which is still fairly new. Looking around the forums, it seems that people with comparable hardware are getting a way betterframe rate than I am.

My system specs are:

GPU: GeForce GTX 960M
Processor: i7-4720HQ (2.60 GHz)
RAM: 16 GB

I have installed the very latest nVidia drivers (version 365.19). This made a difference, but still not as much as I had hoped for.

I'm running at 1920x1080 and have fiddled with all of the display settings but can't seem to get things going higher than about 40fps. In combat, this dips to about 20 fps, which makes aiming very difficult.

For instance, I've turned off VSync, and motion blur, and lowered many of the advanced settings to medium or low, and I still can't seem to get higher than about 45 fps. Even with everything turned off or set to the lowest possible settings, I get drops under 30 fps.

Is there anything I can do to bring up my framerate?

dunno my fps but on my Lenovo Y700 w/ same specs I turned AA to lowest and left everything else at mediium settings and vsync on as it runs smoother with on for me and its running great now.

laptops generally run worse than a PC with equivalent hardware

low, high, v sync on off, adaptive all giving a poor fps and screen tearing

Remember, a 960m is not the same as the desktop card.

This. But even the desktop GTX960 is actually just minimum spec since its very similar to the minimum required GTX670.

But the 960m is way under minimum requirements since its only equal to a GT740, a pretty low end card.

This is why I stopped with laptops. You spend more than you get. With the same amount of money people put on high end laptops that cannot even keep up with cheaper desktops, they could have built themselves a pretty beefy rig.

Turn vsync off, as well as the JJ Abrahams filter. Aka motion blur, lens flare, and dirty camera effect.

The JJ Abrahams filter simply makes the game an exact rehash of Doom 1.

Well I use my laptop for recording footage from my consoles, just presumed it would run Doom Great as anything I've thrown at it thus far had. Mad Max, Sniper Elite 3, Project Cars . It doesn't like Doom even get it upto 60fps it does't feel smooth
