What the hell?? This game sucks!

How do people like this game? This game is a joke on the same level that Duke Nukem Forever was a joke.

I thought DOOM 2016 was supposed to be the NVIDIA pinnacle of modern graphics. What is this bland game? I feel like im being trolled or something. The only thing that looks good are the weapons and enemies. The environment visuals are extremely bland and the level design is very multiplayer-map-like. Arcadey.

GAMEPLAY

The guns don't even kill enemies properly because there is so much emphasis on the "COMBO HIGHLIGHT" that it completely ruins the flow of the combat. What if someone is not 12 years old and does not care for a quicktime event every 2 seconds? In my eyes quicktime events are the bane of gamings existence.

This starting pistol has the most wimpy unsatisfying gun sound i've ever heard! It is so inaccurate and weak. Talk about a let down. Worst pistol i've ever seen in a video game. I would much rather have a steel revolver that explodes heads or something. Then i find the HEAVY ASSAULT RIFLE and it literally sounds like a stapler. I almost laughed

And there is no story or lore besides "ITS NOSTALGIC DOOM LOL!! MAKE SURE TO FIND ALL THE SECRETS!"

This game is a joke. Just kill all enemies until it says "Checkpoint reached" and constantly run around the map until you get dizzy looking for stupid "Secrets" which are practically mandatory considering they equal upgrade currency. God what a chore to play

And no flashlight? how is that even legal for a modern game. You have one of the most advanced suits of all time that does not even have a shoulder lamp?

You cant even pick up, throw, kick, or manipulate the explosive barrels in any way.

Graphics look amazing. I'd imagine the problem is on your end.

Map design is meant to be arcade-y. It's often based on combat arenas, much like the Painkiller games.

Disable "COMBO HIGHLIGHT" visual effect if you want. Or just don't use Glory Kills. Problem solved.

Pistol is great. Kills most of the first types of enemies quickly, and the entire game has been done, pistol only, on the permadeath Ultra Nightmare difficulty. And it does pop heads. Quite well, and quite easily - you just need to do this thing called "aiming".

Tons of story and lore, you just need to open up the menu and look at it - it's your choice. It isn't shoved in your face, by design, because most of us core-genre shooter fans despise forced story in a core-genre shooter.
