Settlement Resource Bug

When wandering the wastes, settlements can sometimes simply forget that they have enough resources.

Meaning, I can have 7 residents and 9 beds, 40 defense, etc, but after an hour or so, if i check the workshops screen, it has warning signals on it, showing zero beds, zero defenses, and just for fun, zero water too.

This wouldnt matter if it was just some sort of display error, but it actually does drop the happiness rating of a settlement if left too long:

Has anyone else seen this bug? Any idea how to fix it?

I'm seeing the same thing with my Defense rating. Nothing brings it back up again.

Yeah, mine's a bit haywire too - Sanctuary's showing 2 beds when I know it should have 5-7, and Red Rocket was showing 3 people before I got there but now it's showing 5!

I've got this bug too. It massively lowers happiness rating. I don't know of a way to fix it. Anyone know?

I got the same bug too, but Sanctuary isn't the only settlement affected, Jamaica Plain is too. Some Resources drop to Zero, but if I check on the settlement, all resources are back. But one thing to consider, if your resources don't drop to zero, check if they were attacked and if you have to repair beds/water pumps/etc. before you assume it is a bug, since at least for me it has always been all or nothing. The only times resources were just shown reduced was due to some of them being damaged in an attack.

I find a bunch of times the workshop screen on my pipboy is really messed up. After building a base having 28 beds, 168 defence, 30 food, 43 water and 50 power, I find out while randomly traveling the wasteland doing side quests that the information isn't updating or going completely insane.

One time I checked and it said 1 settler (meanwhile I had 10), it also showed my power 0 and my happiness dropping (has the ! triangle next to it). So I decided to check it out, once i got there and brought up the workshop building screen it showed all my stats as proper and no issues are present hell even talked to everyone and my traders and they said just a quiet day so I rechecked my pipboy only to find the stats there is completely different. Really strange.

I have a same sort of issue also. <!> but nothing is wrong, then all my stats of Sancuary drop: I have 17 ppl, it says I have 12, I have 100+ defence, it says I have 70, I have 20+ beds, it says I have 15. Add to that the happyness drops like a tato while all this is taking place. I thought it may have all be due to a comunications error on my Tablet (I use the pip boy app) {side note try using the pip boy on your tablet's too, it's the very best of all things gaming} but that does not look to be the issue at all. So I wonder when we will see a fix?

nothing to do with the app, as im not using that app at all. I cant for the life of me think of where its pulling the numbers it gets from. Its not like its showing old numbers either as nothing makes sense. I do hope they fix this one. i hate having to visit the settlements just to remind them that yes indeed they have enough supplies, lol.

definitely a bug, as there wasnt an attack, and simply getting close enough to the settlement for it to be loaded up into the game makes the numbers update to the correct values.

I have this happening to me too :( 0/0/0 water/defense/beds even though it should be 63/160/63 at sanctuary.
Have to fast travel back and use the workshop to fix it, but it wrecks happiness so fast.

Also all the dirty/purified water stored in the workshop keeps disappearing (settlers drink it when bug drops water to 0?)

Also it shows the wrong number of settlers in sanctuary.

it wasn't the jukeboxes, trashed the one in sanctuary, went to straight to Jamaica Plain and straightaway the resources (denfence, bed, water) in Sanctuary dropped to zero again -.- ...oh and the power level also dropped by a significant amount. This sucks.

It could be tied to high resource values (if you set up 100+ defence for example), at least some players write that they encountered this bug, after excessive upgrading.

To add to this, on some settlements i didnt get any warning at all, but the amount of settlers dropped, i got warnings for damaged resources/turrets, once i checked what was going on. I checked earlier saves but still no warning or attack, nothing was damaged, but happiness dropped and half the settlers vanished.
