open you map and fast travel somewhere. the usual "instant teleport" is replaced by the Vertibird flying there. not sure if there is a way to fly to markers. :S

ah ok, the tip said open up your map and place a marker for the vertibird, i figured i would be able to fly to a custom marker.

You can force it to land whenever you want so if you have a custom destination and something else explored on your map in the same direction but past it you can select that then just touch down early where you actually want to be.

Personally i think this is stupid. as you can just fast travel to those places cheaply.

It doesn't make any sense if you can't use the vertibird to land near custom marker spots.

I honestly think the vertibirds were added for those of us who does not use fast travel cause we find it breaks immersion to use fast travel, the vertibird however gives us a way to travel around faster that does not break immersion.

Saves in-game travel time. Might be handy if you have multiple settlements under attack at the same time... and you can use it with a literal ton of equipment without spending any perks on Strong Back.

Also, during the 2015 E3 gameplay trailer, there was a Vertibird trip during which you can clearly see two options -- in addition to the current 'land', there was also 'jump'. Hopefully they bring that back at some point.

It's not pointless. While flying using vertibird, you discover new locations, but do it in a safe manner. And earning XP just like if you would walk through these places.

Straffing is fun and also no fast travel in survival but we have vertibirds. And straffing.

lol it does not go to a custom marker but it goes to a found location you click on the location and click fast travel :(!

this is ment for survival, and because fast travel takes (a lot) of powercore energie, flying doesnt at all. meaning if you want to travel somewhere far with power armor, its best to use vertibird to save on energie.
