I got ambushed by enclave?

Is it normal to get ambushed near the museum of witchcraft even though you don’t have working power armor?

It's not just the two power armors which trigger the ambushes from my experience. The Heavy Incinerator and/or the Tesla Cannon can do it also.

In my two cases of ambushes in two runs since the Update, once I got the Hellfire Power Armor from the npc doing the CC quest, they happened.

At the Enclave camp, the terminal indicates items they are looking for and mention those. And also Plasma Weapons and Fusion Cores, but I am not sure those two can trigger them.

If I'm not mistaken, doesnt it say in the terminals that Enclave soldiers are to retrieve lost/stolen Enclave tech?

If you take the tech, theyre gonna come looking for it

I think you are right. So that would include the items mentioned. But in my case, just having fusion cores has not triggered them. I don't care for plasma weapons, so can't vouch for those.

I grabbed one of the Tesla Cannons and built it into a Very Experimental Triple Resonant Tesla-Beaton Cannon.

Usually the first enclave hit squad which attacks you will have one of the members carrying a note. Read it.
