POLL: Do you want Fallout 5 to be set in New Orleans (or San Francsico)?
I think that New Orleans is by far the best possible setting for a Fallout game, but if not New Orleans, then I think that San Francisco would be the best alternative.

New Orleans and San Francisco are already interesting cities and I can't imagine how awesome would it be to see them in a post-nuclear 50s edition.

In a Fallout game set in San Francisco, just imagine Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Lombard Street, Haight Street, cable cars, hills and so on. And as about New Orleans, to keep it short, all I'm going to say is that New Orleans is a perfect location for a Fallout game, simple as that.

Anyway, would you like Fallout 5 to be set in New Orleans or San Francisco? If not, which locations do you suggest instead?

The Congo. :steammocking:

I don't know if we'd really be likely to see San Francisco again.

Bethesda should take sponsorship money from the highest bidder. Just like football teams etc.
Canada could be Interesting. The game could show the concentration camps, the secret police basements and torture chambers, the resistance bases, the massacre sites, etc.

Maybe it's even still occupied by some kind of US military remnant.

Ok maybe that's more like a DLC than a main game. ;-)

I would just like it to run smoothly, could care less where.

San Francisco has become such a feces filled pit that it should have been nuked into oblivion.

Who cares, as long as they don't do something dumb like move it outside the US.

All the crying about how Bethesda changed the lore aside, they've been respectful of Obsidian by preserving everything they did on the West Coast and sticking to the East Coast with their games.

I suggested New Orleans on these boards a long time ago, and people weren't into it. With Nola, you could have Creoles, Cajuns, rednecks, voodoo (FEV zombies, FEV vampires, heh) and mutated alligators, snakes, and nutria. Also, the game would lend itself to having a big urban area and a big swamp area divided by the Mississippi River. Fallout New Orleans would be awesome.

Yeah. They add another "government facility" with FEV and we have to listen to the Obsidian fanboys cry about it for another 10 years. No thanks.
FEV has had two hundred years to make its way south and east.

Apparently "Fallout New Orleans" was trademarked in 2016. So maybe you will get your wish.

Hopefully it would not be totally based on 20th century stereotypes but I would not hold my breath. Raider tribes grouped around different styles of jazz?

Oh I get it. I also get compartmentalization. I think if FEV did exist there's a good chance they'd have it at multiple facilities in different formulas, running different types of tests trying to get results. I also think it would/could have made its way to the black market. But that doesn't stop fans from crying about it.

I also understand that the enclave is former US government and the government has facilities all over the US, but that didn't stop the pre bethesda fans from crying about the Enclave dying out in FO2 because one oil rig was destroyed.

'Course the bottom line is, I don't like it because it's been done 5 times now. We need something new.

For the record, as much as people think OH is boring, I think a FO in the area would make sense as I think we would be a legitimate target for nukes. Not only do we have NASA right around the corner from me, but the Great Lakes are sort of a big deal being a major source of fresh water.

Helsinki.

That would be a Fallout game to remember.

- Are those... zombies?

- Don't call them zombies! That is not a proper word.

- Okay, okay. Ghouls then. Horrible irradiated murderous monsters, who...

- NO! Those are just people. Yeah, they got a bit radiation, but they are not GHOULS!

- Then why are they standing in the line? Unmoving and waiting.

- Someone gave out free buckets prior the war. Grandparents of their grandparents got on the line and it has been tradition ever since. Someday someone will open that store and there will free buckets for all!

- ...are you guys for real?

- FREE BUCKETS, man. Free buckets. It's a tradition. One day these young people will bring glory to their families, as standing testaments to Finnish determination.

- Okey dokey then. Hey, is that a pack coffee...

- DONT SAY...

*RAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!*
*Ripping*
*Screaming*
*Polite f-offs.*
*Impolite f-offs*
*Few stabbings*
*Second declaration of Independence*

- Oh )#&). There goes 200 years of tradition and one generation.
