Nuka World DLC problem: Can't Start or Finish "Open Season" + Can't interact with Merchants
So after reaching the required level, I decided to try playing through Nuka World. After I finished the introduction quest with the Gauntlet. I walked into the Marketplace, but I couldn't interact with any of the vendors (My character would just say, "Hey", to them, but they didn't respond and I didn't get a dialogue box). Mackenzie Bridgeman did talk to me, but there was nothing about the "Open Season" questline, just options for trading, healing, and her backstory. I decided to try to force the quest by killing the gang leaders (I had already spoken to one of them, so I went to another and shot at him until he turned hostile before killing him), and I succeeded in triggering it. But when I went to hand it in to Bridgeman in the market, she turned hostile.

I did some searching and it doesn't seem like many others have had this problem?

I am running a few mods:

-Optimized Vanilla Textures
-Full Dialogue Interface
-Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch + Nuka World Support
-Insignificant Object Remover
-HudFramework
-FAR - Faraway Area Reform
-Sim Settlements Three-In-One
-Boston FPS fix
-Full Dialogue Interface LOOKUP FAILED Fix

I did try disabling the mods but it didn't help much.

It's kind of frustrating, since I'm actually not that far into this playthrough (Haven't even gone to Diamond City yet). It's also my first. But I'm fairly invested in it and I'd prefer not to have to start a new one.

Any help would be appreciated.

With something like Open Season...I would look it up online and do a walkthrough..Rather than just go off killing NPCs without a quest, no idea if the game is designed around that, and Im not willing to go by something I heard in a chat forum on that.

As far as I know you can actually go do a whole series of quests all the way up to before getting the conquest stuff of the Commonwealth and then turn on the Raiders in Nuka world.
That was more or less what I originally intended. I wanted to do the Nuka-World quests. But I didn't want to go conquer settlements in the commonwealth. I had heard that you could save Open Season for last and I wanted to do that.

The problem is that, as I understand it, I ought to be able to at least activate the quest upon talking to Bridgeman right after the gauntlet. This does not happen in my playthrough and I'm also fairly certain the other merchants aren't suppose to be totally non-responsive. I only started killing the raiders to try to make sure I could even activate the quest, since I read that that was another way to reliably do that. But as I mentioned above, that didn't entirely work out either (A video I watched showed that the Vendor NPCs + Bridgeman weren't suppose to go hostile like they did in my game)

I could try finishing all the other Nuka World content before trying it again, but if it still doesn't work that's several hours of playtime effectively gone.

I have the same problem, and this is the second post about this in the last two days.
There was a backend update recently that may have broken something.
I have the same problem. At first I thought it was my Mods, but it dosnt seem so, since I deleted everything and started over without any mods. and still it dosnt work.

I even reinstalled the game and yet that didnt help either.

It would be lovely if this bug could get fixed

And this is without Open Season, that I cant talk with anybody in Nuka World Marked...

Good i thought it was something i did. So i went to nuka world, and can't talk to any of the traders, or even that nuka robot Nira. I uninstalled, then reinstalled same issue.
Huh, another thread for this... wow, Nuka-World got nuked...

Maybe Bethesda's secret plan to make people play Fallout 76 is to ruin Fallout 4...

Seriously though this seems really crazy that this cropped up so suddenly. I do hope it gets addressed soon!
Gonna bump this because it's also happening to me. Even force starting Open Season by killing raiders, then fiddling with console commands to disable/enable Mackenzie (as the Wiki suggests) still didn't solve the issue.
I know this proably doesnt help much, but I just recently played through nuka world (for the first time), last month. I had no issues so it must have been the last update to break the game (there is a way to roll back the fallout4.exe using steam in console mode, but its complicated and ive never done it, I cant even remember where i seen the guide to do it.)

I am pretty sure I still have my survival save file (lvl 100+, no mods were ever used) of the fight before colton the overboss in the arena, I am curious if using my save file will let you progress, but that doesnt really help your character though...
(guess i lied, somehow I dont have the saves, which is confusing because i thought everytime you sleep in survival your making a new save. )

I think the game only keeps the three most recent autosaves.

Disabling mods after they've corrupted your save doesn't help.

I sent them a ticket on their website. Maybe if other people do as well they'll fix it. This sucks.

Bethesda doesn't spend a lot of time working on a game that came out four years ago. If you are running mods I'd bet they won't help you at all.
This just happened to me. Only Mackenzie talks to me but she doesn't offer the Open Season quest. I loaded a previous save when I was in the Commonwealth and did the gauntlet all over again and still they wouldn't talk to me. I tried killing and resurrecting them and the recycleactor command but nothing happened. I guess if you want to buy/sell with the traders you can use showbartermenu but this latest bug ruins the immersion a tad...also I really really want to kill all the Nuka World raiders. :)

It does seem that this bug was created by a recent (possibly reverted) change to either the NW DLC itself or another mod. Unfortunately it seems to get baked into your save file, even if you haven't been to NW yet.

There is no word on a retroactive fix, the UFO4P team are not likely to address it given their response and waiting for Bethesda to fix a bug is an exercise in futility.

I recently found some streamlining mods and the Workshop Framework and decided not to wait for a fix and just start again.
Me: Crap, they haven't even found a fix for it.
Also me: Oh, my...this was very recent...

I hate my timing for coming back to Fallout 4. ;~;

In the meantime, I suggest using the mod quicktrade found here:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16229

While it doesn't fix the issue, it allows you to trade with the merchants without having to initiate dialogue.

hi,i reinstalled yesterday and have now same exact bug. no vendor and Nira will talk to me,no matter what . is this issue reported to Bethesda support? i know they are slow to do anything except "sale" on their Creation Club, but unless unofficial patch fixes this we're screwed .
