Far Harbor Question
Acadia and the town of Far Harbor are at peace, although Dima is out of the picture(not to spoil the MQ too much). Is there a way to broker peace between the Children of Atom and the people of Far Harbor, without Dima?

No. The only way to make peace in Far Harbor is to destroy the Children of Atom. Their goal is to make the island so radiated nobody can live there but them and because the harbor uses fog condensers, which is cause for a holy war against the harbor people. Far Harbor cannot, and would not exist without Dima's protection. Its all in the different computer consoles if you find them all, and assorted other clues.

Lets see...side with the reasonable people just trying their lives in peace, or the crazy pseudo-religious lunatics that want to make everything unlivable.

[monotone]Such a difficult choice. Hmmm.[/monotone]
You need Dima to make peace. There is a way to succeed where nobody gets destroyed and all 3 groups live. You have to help Dima, he will eventually suggest replacing the leader of the Children of the Atom with a synth. If you go along with this the new synth leader will negotiate peace with Far Harbor and no group gets destroyed.

...so in other words you have to pull an "institute" on them? That's not damning at all.

On the other hand, its the leader of a cult of aformentioned religious nutters who refuses to see reason.

Talk about grey on grey morality...

Wouldn't call it exactly grey on grey and neither would I compare this to what the Institute does. Replacing one crazy idiot with more than enough blood on his hands (btw, you can even spare him) in order to save the lives of many people, including his followers, is nothing like the Institute that kills and replaces innocent people en masse just for the fun of it.
Confessor Tektus was a mad usurper who lead the Children of Atom astray. Replacing him with Confessor Martin was the only way to restore the true faith and permit the glory of Atom to spead across the land through the hearts of new converts in the tradition of Confessor Cromwell.

I pity those of you who believe we Children to be "crazies", for you are blind to the truth of Atom. Only through spiritual unity can Division be achieved. Only by embracing the Glow will the mysteries of the Wasteland reveal themselves to you. So long as you choose to dwell in mediocrity and darkness among invading technocultists, failed militiamen, mad scientists and sewer rats, you will never find salvation.

Embrace the Glow, friends. Seek Division.

Its difficult to explain. Simple put, the act of "replacing someone with a synth" is this worlds equivalent of (And I swear to god, no one quote Godwins law, because this is a good point) "putting select racial people in death camps."

It has less of an impact on us, who view this only as a fictional medium, but would have significantly more of an immediately "red flag" reaction to anyone actually in this universe.

because this is a good point
Destroy the Prywen killing hundreds including children? Bog standard. They're invading raiders. Massacring the Railroad? Must be done. Synths are an abomination. Kill 1,000+ raiders? They all have it coming. Standard gameplay.

Replace someone with a synth?

Nazism.

Not saying there aren't worse acts to commit in this world. Just that, that particular act is an immediate red flag to EVERYONE in the commonwealth. If nothing else, because the institute has been(or was) the biggest unknown, yet most threatening factor in the lives of everyone for a very long time.

Raiders you can at least see coming. But if someone is replaced, or YOU are about to be replaced, usually you won't know until right before it kills you. The unknown is scary like that.

Well, no more so than the million plus other ways to die in the Wasteland. I mean, maybe, yes, scary to people who are alive, but I wouldn't worry about being replaced by a synth any more than I would worry about being eaten alive by some radioactive monstrosity or sold into slavery by raiders, or being dismembered and stuffed into a bag of entrails by super mutants.

Don't use straw man logical fallacies.

Correlation does not imply causation.

This fallacy is also known as ♥♥♥ hoc ergo propter hoc, Latin for "with this, therefore because of this," and "false cause."

Should i go on?

he isn't arguing that or disagreeing with what we all know already.

He said in this REAL universe we are unperturbed by the implications in the fictional universe; where, if we were in fact in the Fictional Fallout universe, it would scare us as much as all the things you said... the same way it scares us in real life.

In other words while were playing the game we feel no paranoia as the player that we will be replaced by synth, although in the universe were playing in, it has been established that threat is as real as the radscorpions or deathclaws we may fight. Though, The Player does have a reaction, when we encounter a threat that would kill the player. If either threat were real in our REAL LIFE, we would consider being replaced by a synth as much a threat as every other threat, obviously.

YOU ARE arguing with yourself, because you're projecting what his beliefs are based on what he shared. It was easy for me to tell that this was not implied in his original comment because I WASN'T looking to be triggered or act like a victim.
