Either store your things in Home Plate, your important stuff, or store all your things in a place an NPC can't get too, like a building in a settlement that requires a jump. If you store things in your workshop, make sure to block off your workshop and put your benches up there as well.

Pull the fusion cores of any and all sets of power armor to prevent NPCs from hopping in. Store the cores in a locked room with no interactable items in it. Just make a small cement room with an electric droor and a switch to open/close the door, add a storage bin of your choice inside and put any/all really valuable stuff in there.

What I do is have a floor safe for my power cores, a footlocker for ammo storage, a clothes hamper for legendary armor and a hanging wall storage bin for my legendary weapons.

Anything you store in your workbenches is fare game for settlers, so storing weapons, power cores and ammo in them will result in settlers running around wearing power armor and armed with nuka launchers after a few attacks.

how do i make a switch that is only for a door and how do i connect a door to function with electricity?

any way to eject her out of the power armor ?

If its a settler in your armor, you should be able to tell them to get out. If its a traveling merchant like Trashcan Carla, its her armor now. Don't worry about losing a single set of armor though, there's tons of PA in the game.

To link a switch to a powered door, just run electricity to the switch, then link the switch to the door. It has to be a powered door, not a regular door, scroll through the doors section and you'll have a few to choose from. The reason I use cement structures for my storage is because the cement powered doors match the normal cement walls perfectly. You can use a wooden door or whatever, as long as its powered.

Something just occurred to me, you probably don't have any of the dlc do you? If you don't then thats why you don't have access to powered doors, they came with the wasteland workshop dlc. Sometimes I forget there are still new players buying the game and they may not have gotten the season pass yet. I'm sorry man, thats my bad.

You may be able to find a mod that adds some kind of powered doors to the game, Bethesda was always a bit behind in development when compared to the mod scene. Modders would add elevators to the game, then a dlc or 2 later and BAM! Bethesda adds elevators, that type of stuff.

If you are playing a no dlc game, then I would suggest using Home Base (a house you can buy in Diamond City) as your storage solution just because its so easy to set up. The only downside is you'll have to carry enough junk to the place to start building once you own it, but if its going to be primarily for storage you can head in with about a hundred wood and steel (you should be good to go with around 20 of each as there are a good amount of scrappable items in the house) build a few of those green metal chests and toss any gear you want to keep safe in there. Nobody is going to be able to touch that stuff but you.
