Installing Hide & Hold Out H2o Dedicated server and Update the server.

1. Download Steam CMD from https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/client/installer/steamcmd.zip
Unzip the file and run the Steamcmd.exe
(My opinion is that it is the best to install Steam CMD where I want the server to be installed.)

2. Create a .bat file that you can call Update Hide & Hold Out H2o
This should contain:
steamcmd +login anonymous +force_install_dir D:\Server\Hide_and_Hold_Out_H2o +app_update 377610 +validate

Everything must be written on one line "D:\Server \Hide_and_Hold_Out_H2o" Can be replace with where you would like Hide & Hold Out H2o Dedicated server to be installed
HINT!
If u wont the server to be installed in a folder whid spaces replase space whid _
save this file at *:\******\Steamcmd. (example D:\Server\steamcmd)

3. Run the Update Hide & Hold Out H2o.bat
(When running Update Hide & Hold Out H2o.bat the Hide & Hold Out H2o Dedicated server will be installed at the location that you wrote in the Update Hide & Hold Out H2o.bat file. This file can later use to update the server when it comes uppdate.)

Hint!
What you then need to do at a server update later is to run Update Hide & Hold Out H2o.bat when the server is turned off.

(it is important that you write Quit when the server is installed or finished updated)

4. After the server is installed create a .bat file that you can name example "Start Hide & Hold Out H2o" in this file add:

H2o.exe -batchmode -nographics -chat.serverlog 1 -server.netlog 1 server.saveinterval 300 -autoupdate -god 1 goto start


This is the file that you use to start the dedicated server with.

5. Start Start Hide & Hold Out H2o.bat once and the server will create a config.cfg at the location you saved the server on


6. Close server with to write Shutdown in console if you have installed Oxide2 or shut down the process H2o.exe in Windows Task Manager.

7. Go in and add what you want the server to be named and the Port you will use for this server in config.cfg

8. Start Hide & Hold Out H2o.bat and the server shud now start up and be in the server list.

I recommend and use Oxide2 so you get Consol at your server and can control it a bit there as it has not yet come telnet support that you then get Console that way. And that it is going to come lots of cool mods to Hide & Hold Out H2o.


HINT!
How to make a bat file:
To make a .bat open a text New Text Document input the Bat file content press Save As and name the file the name of the Bat file and .bat after the name.

I get the server running and on the list, however after about 10 seconds of connecting it fails, I have firewalls disabled and the port forwarded udp and tcp, I haven't found a fix yet, if you know anything I would love some help.

Yeah, no matter what my boyfriend does, we can't seem to get a server to work for this poor excuse of a game...Seriously, why do they make it so difficult to set up a private server? Creativerse has it done right, this is just ridiculous.

When I try to start the server, it tells me H2o.exe is not a recognized command.

just open your .bat should look like this:

as you can see it's h2o_server.exe
as you will see in you're server folder that the exe for the server is called h2o_server.exe and not H2o.exe anymore ;)
