I don't remember getting a sample of the mold.
I did a quick search to confirm. You do not need a sample of the mold covering the door.

I don't recall playing much "guess the verb". More of the puzzles were about how to perform rituals and where to use them.

thanks for replying. I guess maybe "mold" wasnt' the right word. The fungicide synthesis ritual says you need mustard seed and "a sample of fungus" in the saline bath.
