Regarding blackwood, anybody figured how to ignite it? Are you even supposed to? Are you supposed to freeze it and then invert it and... argh :E
As you've noticed, different kinds of wood have different temperatures at which they'll burn.
What's more, it appears that wood burns at a higher temperature than its initial burning point.
This is more general remarks about commands, might be considered a spoiler to some? The automation of performing rituals and such is really great. I figured you could go to a room, and remember where an item was. Both are huge conveniences that took me a while to figure try out; they might be worth adding to the Reference Card, in my opinion. Or maybe it is modern IF convention? Or worse: it was stated in-game and I didn't pay attention? ^.^
Also, where should I use the chime from the glass permeability inscription? I can't remember any, and I don't really want to walk through the whole map looking for glass. (EDIT: I found one place, anyway? idk if there's more.)
Like when I've lost my orichalcum to the wire-drawer or my platinum to making electrum?
Or are such problems reversible?
*edit*
It would have really been helpful if I had read https://hadeanlands.com (main page and "playing IF" section) before being over 10 hours into the game. :D
(It's "click to unspoiler each line", so visiting the page will not spoil anything. But finding hints for a specific puzzle may take a little bit of care.)
I can tell you where it is:
North of "Lab Hall Northwest", in the Main Store, in the safe
What's up with the blackwood?
It helps you "improve" something...
get a known item from a different room with one command? "go to <x>, take <x>/all, go back" is a bit tedious for fetching several ingredients after a reset
Surprised they weren't too soaked from... something else.
