Polar oil bug?

I am pretty deep into the game (I think) and just learned the Wreck Debris Indicator fact (that the polar oil will react if poured over the ceramic debris outside the wreck). I needed to reset since I had used up some stuff I would need again. After resetting I said:

> find polar oil

This takes me to the Wreck. Then I get this:

> take it
You can't see "it" (the vial of polar oil) at the moment.

> find polar oil
The vial of polar oil is right there.

> take polar oil
You can't see any such thing.

???
So I think I'm in an unwinnable state right now. Has this happened to anyone else?

It looks like you've found a hole in the automated goal-following logic. The oil is in that room, but it's concealed. The "find" command moves you to the right location, but the "take" command only works on visible objects, so it can't trigger the goal-following system.

You can still retrieve the stuff manually, the same way you did the first time. It's only the shortcut system that's tripped up.

Sorry about this. For what it's worth, I don't think anybody's reported that bug before.
