Level Solutions Discussion
Trap Them offers very sophisticated puzzles. But with the collective mind of the community you can help each other out. You are welcome to discuss solutions and problems here. I will keep my eye on here as well.

The game is engineered in a way that makes the game-logic update identical on different machines. No matter what hardware you are running it on, it is exactly the same game. It means that solutions can be identically replicated on every machine running the game. I hope technically versed players appreciate this quality.

Many levels demand new solution concepts. Always ask yourself what you have learned after completing a level. You will benefit from what you have learned in other levels.

If you encounter dexterity or timing problems in the puzzle path then it is an indication that your solution approach is wrong. The puzzle path is deliberately designed with very low dexterity demands in mind.

If you get stuck for a while in one particular level it is recommended to free your mind by skipping the level (patience point system) or visiting levels in other branches instead. Come back to it when you feel fresh again.

Some later levels might look impossible to solve. But all of the levels have been tested with care before the game released. Each level has at least one clean solution. In a situation like this you have to utilize the mechanics for a new purpose you haven't thought about before.

As always, have an intriguing puzzle-solving time!

I am stuck on Level 77- Connect. Would love some obscure hints or help. I don't want to 'cheat', but I am stuck on this level. I've completed levels beyond this one, but I just cannot for the life of me figure this one out! lol....Thanks!

love the game btw.

The idea is to keep the upper ground grounded but lower it until it connects to the ground down below. Now that the upper ground is "holding" the lower ground you can destroy the lower ground without gravity causing it to fall down on the bombs. There are various techniques how to achieve that. One solution is shown in the trailer around 0:53 - 0:57 ;)

Hope it helps :)

Hello. I'm requesting hints on several levels. I've been stuck on all these for a while:

38 - Guide the Thief 2. This one just looks impossible (dexterity-wise), compared to Guide the Thief 3 which looks extremely hard but possible.

62 - Handle Them. Usually one of the red ghostswill run to the right and escape with crystals. I can't find a way to kill one ghost without either releasing the other first or triggering the bomb.

102 - 2 Helpers. I can kill one ghost. I can even kill both. The problem is getting back to them after clearing the way to the crystals. The sensor bombs are in the way.

103 - Hot Tube 2. I can't get out of the rectangular area at the start without consuming the red ghost. It seems I need to drop a 6-tile column of blocks to clear the lava (5 tiles is not enough?).

Edit: Handle Them is solved.

Level 38 hint:
It is an action level, but raw dexterity isn't enough. On several occasions (especially at the end) you have multiple options to increase the detour of the thief (collector). Make clever use of crystal placement to increase his "runtime" and use the time to set up a deadly trap at the elevator. It is expected that you fully understand the movement routine of the thief in order to plan your actions properly.

Level 103 hint:
You have to consume the thief in order to leave this area. As you have observed it is impossible to lit the lava completely. But it doesn't mean this area is of no use. You can use it to tunnel the crystal through. It is tricky but this hint should point you to the right idea.

Level 102 hint: I will save this one for later. Hope the first 2 hints provide helpful insights:)

btw. the collector is not a ghost, it is a robot inside a dust protecting cloak. But I guess the graphics leave room for imagination :)

Hey, thanks for the hints! Today I solved 103 (based on your hint) and 102 (by myself).
Hint for 102: you only need 1 collector and the smart bombs CAN be moved.

Nice game, by the way. You should make a website. Right now it's hard to find information about the game on Google because Trap Them is also the name of a band (and searching for "trap them game" finds a lot of hits for a different game with a similar name).

Thank you and Congratulations!

I am aware about the unlucky situation with naming etc. As of now everything there is to know about the game is simply here on Steam. I am not sure a website would change much for now since the game hasn't received much publicity. But I am considering setting up a website in the future.

I am interested to see your solution to 102. Do you mind recording a solution video and sending it to youtube? In case you don't want to expose it to the public you can mark the video "unlisted" and send me its link to

Hi, I uploaded my solution here:

Wow, thanks for sharing. It is always interesting to see the solutions other players come up with. I see you found a way to move the bombs to your advantage. There is also a solution without moving the bombs. May be someone will find it;)

I'm having problems with #79 (2 Snakes). My approach is, to burrow down from the top center of the mass, creating fingers in the inside to increase the surface area for the stars to travel on, and forcing the 2 groups to merge into 1. But, the best I can do is trap all except 2, which I can't seem to stop. : (

Your main ideas are on the right track. You should think about a way how to easily merge the two snakes into one. It does only take a moderate amount of timing with the right idea. Feel free to watch the trailer around 1:42, it is showing how everything comes together.

I hope it will help;)

Does anyone have any hints for level 022, BLOCK THE SIGHT 2?! It looks so simple but I don't see how to get around the red bomb.
RetroMasters  [developer] Feb 9, 2016 @ 7:00am

Mid-air destruction of a falling block is required ;)

Let me know if it helps.

Doh! Indeed it does thank you!

Any advice on 81? I found everything to there easy (on the puzzle route) but I'm stuck. I have two problems that I can see, getting past the red bomb and moving past the blue bomb multiple times (or not?). The red bomb I managed to get moving so thought that as a ghost I may be able to get past and drill the last bit (although I'm not sure it would work), but then I can't get back to the other side again.
Really loving the game though. I prefer the puzzle games over the action.

Hints rather than a solution would be best :)
