Eternal Crusade Knowledge Thread
Since its been a while that people condensed knowledge together in a single thread, i am doing this now.

Depends on what you are looking for.

Some useful things:
Melta/Multi Melta ignore the shields of Ground Assaults and deal damage through them.
Melta/Multi Melta still air burst grenades.
Krak Grenades and Melta Bombs stick to your enemies too.
Destructor ignore Ground Assaultt Shields (Eldar)
Stream of Corruption can be fun.
Flickering Fire can be done.
Doombolt can be steered for awesome ♥♥♥♥♥, giggles and trollololol.
If you stick with your squad, or as a duo, playing Heavy Bolter/Deffgun can be awesome fun.
Stalker Bolter can appearently switch down its scope when you press B, making it like a shotgun.
Adrenaline Vials still seem to provide 4 Stamina rolls.
Survival Vials reduce incoming damage by 40%
Abiding Vials give awesome Heal over time for 40 seconds.
Apothecary Vial effects stack. Can have all at once.

what else...

Orkz Kannon has a Snap Fire that bounces off walls for mid to short distance engagements. just click left and pray.
HEADSHOT WITH STIKKY NADE!
Orkz Poison Gas grenades rock. Triple Bundle with poison resistance even more.
Poison Grenades + Burny Syringe + Melee Life Steal Juice from Painboy

Eldar Protect reduces damage taken under the yellow Bubble by wooping 60% if i recall right.
Elddar Enforce increases outgoing Damage, cant recall the value, think 30% sounds right.
Nurgle Sorc Flesh Circle decreases incoming damage too, but think it were only 20%

Abiding Beacon seems to provide a Buff i dont know off, given i got Buff assist running on Abiding Vials.

what else...

AV is important! Vehicle Dominance can decide matches, like Torias, Medusa, Maggon or Olipsis.

Beacons stick to any surface they hit first, and provide heals AoE in a 3 dimensional manner.
That means: dont throw em on the floor, next to the grenades...
Throw em to the Ceiling above you, if there is a point over it. Like Zedek point C building, with a room below the point.

Think that covers most of the general stuff.

Edit1: Forgot 1 of the most important things. Ground Assaults and JPA dbash lasts longer than a tacticals or apothecaries, unless the apo uses a chainsword. Sorcerors and Warlocks dont suffer a shortened dbash. Not sure about Painboy.

I've been able to get in some LSM matches last 2 weeks and I've seen some new Shield Bro's kinda struggle versus weapons fire. The shield will only protect you for so long as you try to get into lunge range, and you have to watch thier feet as you move at them, if they are walking backwards they know the Walk backwards/shoot/block/kick/chop chop to the head routine. When or if you get close your nearly dead, then stunned and finished off. Very few ways for A non Ranged ability class to return fire on targets beyond 2 seconds away.

1. drop your medkit

2. replace it with a frag grenade, learn to snap throw grenades, not easy but practice it.

3. throw a grenade to make them roll, stop shooting you and break aim

4. you have about 1 second during thier roll to decide your move, can you sprint closer before they are back up, will you be near enough for a lunge, will your shield hold long enough if your not.

5. if you think you can make it, the second your grenade moves them , drop your shield and sprint but also go sideways, A or D this will make them need to re aim as they stand up.

6. there is no shame in a retreat to get a better position, they have a gun, you don't. Be aware of where you are, pillars, box piles, debris or doorways, use them . yes they got grenades too, maybe, BUT if your not dead the closer they get to you, the more to your advantage.

7. watch out for CSM vets with stormbolters or melta guns, if your not a level 5 or 6 yourself, they got you on health and armor, and might back up while shooting you, increasing time and space for them, while ready for a kick/stun.

8. just in case you have LSM teamates nearby, and they can be bothered to look around and maybe help out, think about the angle of fire they need to assist you and try to turn the enemy to it, while not getting yourself in it. this is very hard, the game is set up so its easier to miss an enemy and hit a teamate. at least in a melee scrum.

9. Grenades still airburst in Melta Fire.

10. Shields dont protect from Melta weapons (including Napalm Kannon), Stream of Corruption (CSM) or Destructor (Eldar). Heat and Poison Ailments still build, Destructor is like normal gunfire, beside the Shield doesnt block it.
Not sure about Flickering Fire and Lash.
If the mechanic stays the same for Jinx/Warp Instability, the Shield will just melt.

11. Theres nothing like running at a Shieldwall, throwing a Krak at 2-3 GA next to each other, and keep attacking them till suicide Bomb. (Worked 3 times in a single match for me, taking along basically the Defenders of Stairs on C, Maggon.)

12. Theres nothing like sticking a Krak Grenade up on someone and see it do the magic trick

13. Not sure if it counts for Warlocks/Sorcs, but all non-Assault classes suffer from a shortened Bash time. While Assaults can basically Stun > Heavy, most others cant. (I remember the days Bash was equal length for all classes, and Multi Melta Devastator could face GA directly and win.)

14. Sometimes striking into a Gun being fired at you can be beneficial.

Thats all i can think of that should be added. Hope you dont mind i did.

Got into a few matches today as LSM won 1 lost 4, all the losses are on infantry only maps, Marines you are using poor loadouts, and you are not learning from mistakes, Are you pinned down on Promethium? switch loadouts, melee and short range bolter mods leave you unable to return fire, Plasma rifles and Grav guns have longer range, yes they over heat, BUT if everybody is using them or a Devastator to mass firepower, LOOK THE ♥♥♥♥ AROUND, while screaming for Eldar boycotts cheating and nerfing, pick out the enemy or pick out a teamate fighting one and get an assist, stop running past teamates in combat and just help kill that one.

Stop with the ♥♥♥♥in whining And figure out how to play the game, they are not OP

I used a Grav gun every game, I managed a head shot on a swooping hawk, 2 skorps and a warlok, I slowed a couple dozen Eldar for teamates to kill, I cover fired on Promethium until the swooping hawks gangbanged me, get a clue on what weapon loadouts work vs Eldar. if your not going Grav gun or sniper, Plasma rifle or Devastator, las cannon warm up is too slow except on vehicles.

Throw grenades learn to throw grenades

Do you not watch television, do you not see assault and breaching tactics by cops or soldiers at least once a week? Get organized LSM and play the game with a plan.

just calling for Eldar boycotts and nerfs and saying only play against CSM, freeze out the Eldar and Orks, that isn't going to solve your problem, because then your stuck with only the CSM to boycott and freeze out, and its gonna happen as soon as you get what you want.

Not sure if it works for Stalker, but when using a regular Bolter with a scope, one can switch between over the Shoulder and scoped Aim. If that works, and actually also the Aim, the Stalker could be considered kind of a Shotgun. (EDIT: Key to switch is B)

And what i miss a bit in this is: Melta, Multi-Melta and the Vulkan, since Heat also damages during iFrames. Used to have some good fun with it. (Those who encountered the Orkz Napalm Kannon know how annoying it is)

Can also play on your luck, and put a Krak in your Loadouts. When being engaged in close Combat, try to enlengthen it a bit, then stick it and hope for the best. Or walk up to unsuspecting players and WOOP!. Been taking Vets with me that way. Best Memory: Carmine, the SM had a firing line formed, me as CSM slowly walk next to it and Krak one of them - took along 2.

EDIT2: Totally forgot: A Plasma Cannon is able to down an Eldar with 2-3 snapfired Shots.

Ignore the ***holes insulting you and telling you to upgrade, I run the game at 1280x1024 and have a monitor resolution of 1600x1200.

To get the game to run in 4:3 resolution, go to c:/Users/(yourprofilename)/appdata/local/eternalcrusade/saved/config/windowsclient/gameusersettings and look for "UseDesktopResolutionForFullscreen", there should be an = sign with the word "false" next to it most likely, change "false" to "true", set the game resolution to whatever you like. Make the game start in windowed mode, and when the game boots up, just hit alt+enter on the keyboard, the game will go fullscreen and be in 4:3 mode.

If you cant find the "appdata" folder, youll have to look online for how to make hidden folders not be hidden anymore. I did it so long ago i forgot how i did it.

I am so happy that you wrote all this. A lot of work for you, but very useful for an old player like me. And even much useful for new players. :dark_angels::dark_angels:
Anybody happen to have more Informations on Grip Attachements to Boltguns? That skipped by me. I remember there also been Excel sheets around for damage Calculations, Spreadsheets for Melee Weapons (Swing Time, Damage, D-Bash length)
good job, i do remember several discussions on the best bolter loadout, and there was the number crunching analytics dude, thats so far above my understanding....., don't remember his name.
this information is very useful, for any and all warriors of any army.

Edit to my other post, since apparently I can't delete or edit it to say what I now feel about this game after trying it again:
cash grab, trash title, and worst entry in the warhammer 40k universe. Please, devs, either give the game to someone who will be able to make it a decent game, or destroy it. It is a blight on the franchise and on Games Workshop as a whole. Space Marine had a better multiplayer game mode, and that was made years before this was even thought of. Sounded better too.
in the end, this game should die, as only ONE battle is going on at a time? um... 'in the future there is only war' kinda would elude to there being other battlefields and matches going on but, must be an off day for 'only war', and is just 'one little tussle'.
again, I plead, devs, don't ruin what could be an amazing game, make it play and sound and feel better before adding more lore breaking cosmetics and misspellings to the game.
btw, Deathwish are not marines with 'no markings', and no they are not a forgotten chapter, morons, they are held high by imperial forces due to them having the most extreme conditions to fight in, what being a kill team comprised of highly skilled individuals. They are not 'a forgotten chapter. Hundreds of marines, with no markings', and the weapon isn't 'chased in space marines bones', maybe encased, but not chased. I didn't see bones behind the weapon running after my character...
basically, the best thing for this game: graceful exit.
I aplaud the fact you compiled this info for players, but honestly, new players should stay away. This game isn't built for new players to be able to jump into, its made for whales and vets to stomp new players into the dirt. Oh, and the fantastic ones who can apparently teleport as a TACTICAL MARINE... funny, never saw 'personal teleporter' as a gear option... Must be something you get when you basically pay the devs to do absolutely nothing to help the game be better.

Really cant complain at this point when people coming in with 3h getting whacked around by people playing since September 2016, or even the closed betas they got ripped off for.

On the side of "Made for whales" - cant disagree here. When it comes to Behaviour Interactive Games, it seems their Steam board moderators always end in twitch links. Kinda surprised they didnt make Valrak one of them.
Edit 4: I remember this scenery: Jetpack Assault drops down on me as a Devastator and considers me an easy snatch. Not sure if it was a ToC or a Bro or a member of CSM anymore. Won 3 or 4 of those engagements because Dbash was same length for all. I was able to bash the JPA, wind up my melta, and built a bit of heat. After doing that successful 3 times, the JPA usually was toast. Like 2-3 Weeks later a patch arrived to make Melee of non-Melee classes basically useless.

i have some material about the bolter attachments but am not on my home PC right now
Well, i thought it would be helpful to throw this stuff on a pile and see whats good and useful and what isnt. Not sure if its in need of being reviewed, i hope not too many things have changed ever since.
Any information on those Main Gun (Bolter, Shoota, Shuriken Catapult, Plasma Rifle, Stormbolter, Combi Bolter) attachments would be very welcome. I dont think i ever seen anything in detail about the different barrels and grips and what their up and downsides are. Describtions are scarce, and the changing numbers ingame also dont help much. Dont think it ever been discussed much since "Heavy Barrel/Improved Accuracy on move" Meta.
I've honestly never checked out the guides, good read. I just charge in with my storm bolter and grenades lol. Thaaaats why I die a lot...
