40k is actually a tabletop game Played by real people who talk to each other, and therefore they would know, who, what, where ,why, when and how, about the game and armies involved.
Eternal Crusade is an online game, its a Third person shooter from a first person perspective, so 30 individuals join a match and its 15 vs 15, and they all end up LSM, and more than half are wearing thier favorite chapter colors, with just a small recognition dot above thier heads, Is the Black Templar across from you friend or Foe ? what if your also a Black Templar but he has a RED dot above his head.
Annihilation matches are also called Deathmatches, this is actually covered by the ability to DUEL in garrison mode.
Unlike your beloved space marine we have to hear so much about on Eternal Crusade, This game was designed to have a Strategy other than bust them in the middle and trap them in the spawn point until they rage quit or run out of lives.
Sadly the sports like strategy of a Time clock, possesion clock, strategic point captures, yadda yadda yadda, have eluded the majority of players since the original badass players left the game.
So overall the strategy got tweaked once maybe twice in 4 years but the Players didn't and its actually a very simple concept, but it isn't to the majority of players....even after a couple years of playing. you can't teach a rock to read.
I have never said SM was a better game. Re-read my posts before saying stupid crap like that. I have only ever pointed out criticisms of both games as I experienced them.
As someone who has been into 40k since 1988, I kindly request you shut the patronising tone and keep out of discussions that you aren't qualified to partake in. Thank you.
Space Marine , was only The Ultra marine chapter until after it went on steam, and after Eternal crusade was known to be multi faction and multi chapters at launch.
Insecure maybe, I'm just tired of the same discussions after 4 years, where were you before covid 2020 ?
Where were you for all the " team killer " " Friendly fire " " git gud noob " Threads that ended up flame wars, just because friend foe recognition can be difficult, and throw in the lag.
Rambos, lone wolves, Space marine players that do not play as a team......again 4 years worth of those flame wars archived.
You will not attract outsiders at all into Eternal crusade by harping on the negatives, and wishing at a wishing well that does not exist, you attract more Bee's with sugar than with vinegar.
Negativity breeds negativity.
There is plenty of things that Eternal crusade does have going for it, things they did right or good enough, it doesn't all have to be just the inevitable, " Its the only large scale 40k pvp game available " but it is, so .......
You think its easy to be the cheerleader ? you try it, jump into these boards with as positive an attitude as you can muster, and start explaining how to be a better player, start a Tactics discussion, start a teamwork discussion, break down some battlefield maps and talk tactics, explain how the game works, how the whole thing is based on timers and objectives and how to be fluid and proactive, teamwork, weapon loadouts.....Start a positive thread, I dare you.
