Devastators pistol wtf
So apparently Devastators have a pistol but never use it except for executions. Even if it means they are totally defenseless in close combat. Which is why they would have a pistol.

Can you fix this obvious mistake please. It is ridiculous.

they took it away during the open test, the reason was the stun recovery timer was still the same and the devastator insta dropped his shoulder mounted heavy weapon and pulled a pistol, so the argument was increase the stun or lose the pistol, it was easier to get rid of the pistol graphics programming, than to reprogram heavies on each faction for longer stun timers.
That makes no sense. There is no reason why a stun recovery time should have anythhing to do with whether or not a Devastator has a pistol for use. It works in Space Marine. It works in 40k. having it as an animation for executions only is a joke.
So the game was dominated early on by jumpers, mainly Chaos and it was thier contention that it was too easy for a devastator to recover and fight back.

Ok speaking of Space Marine, Same situation, I played a Plasma cannon Dev, until it got nerfed, Chaos raptor players complained when they jumped me and my stun wore off, i just aimed at our feet and killed us both, so now they introduced melee disrupt, can't shoot, OK so now I started dropping my frags and killed us both, SO then it became melee disrupt caused only 1 grenade to drop with a 6 second timer....time enough to kill and jump away.


Devastator is a needed class and Plasma cannon guys who get good are worth gold, but they are fragile and need to have a medic or teamates close.
I also reckon jump assault should damage the ♥♥♥♥ out of the victim, not just stun them. Imagine having a 140kg + how many kilos of weaponised power armour aggressively dive down using jet propulsion plus gravity from 50 meters in the air. You would not be just dazed for a few seconds. You'd be broken.
ok yes, but then the simple solution is just turn it into a divebomb kill move, I'm fine with that, I'd hate that as my favorite class is devastator, but its fair and i'll just respawn. HOWEVER, most of the players would not be.

Kinda funny to watch. I’m only mentioning it because I know you’ll try to kill that one heavy who happens to be an ECM User and he pistol whips the ♥♥♥♥ outta you.
Not really thinking about melee, more close range <100m. Heavy weapons so slow vs anyone who knows you are there within that range, I don't know why they didn't keep it like in SM where you can just whip it out when you need to, like pistols are actually meant to do.
