You see above the Stormbolters, the line that connects to the neck Bling you don't want ? you have to waste all those hard earned ability points filling them in to unlock Stormbolter, Dual ammo is very much a good idea , but the bonuses from all the bling really isn't a big whoop.
The idea behind this complicated mess, is to slow noobs and reward veterans, nobody is happy to get thier level 6 killed by a level 1, but it can still happen, so............
I wish they would cut down getting to level 6 by two thirds, hell this might be our last year, why not let us all go out with maxxed toons.
Ok so, you can use the Pve Area and you can solo HORDE mode maps, there are some guides showing the best spots or even cheat spots per map, don't expect to get to the end all the time, usually by wave 8 the Tyranid warrior shows up and kills you, this will help supplement Advancement and Req points between battles, its not going to help alot just some.
Switch To Heavy Bolter and equip extra ammo and a grenade, they have random ammo and healing supply boxes in the missions.
Yes Switch to Heavy bolter, you can use your advancment points on your Tactical tree.
You can use stormbolters without unlocking, you just have to pay loadout, drop your med pack and special knife blade.
And they should change the graphics for the Advancement Point tree - the icons are so tiny and spaced out for no reason. It is almost impossible to see what is what.
Ok back up to your Stormbolter question, and target lock/aim bot. That is such a nerfed question, or maybe I should say LOADED question, because its been the bugaboo, it started out much better and has progressed/ been nerfed to what it is, and thats before blaming LAG.
The pistol was added because nobody could hit a Flyer, and it was hardly a 20% on a jumper.
And yeah, its not 40k tech, its 21st century, but thats because guys applied logic they knew while screaming, So the devs nerfed or applied known factors, not that it helped as its all me me me, so first something should work like its from 40,000 years in the future....until it kills them, then that wasn't fair and it needs to work like a rifle from today, or whatever it was that pissed them off.
One of the final Supply Drops you'll get in the 30k Crates is a Unique Stormbolter which comes with increased Penetration. Vengeance Stormbolter.
I tested a simple as hell, yet kind of functional Loadout a while ago:
Vengeance Stormbolter
Relic Power Armor
Servo Skull
Medikit
Repair Aceelerator (Minor)
1000LP - No alterations of Pistol or Knife.
200HP/130Shield/130 Toughness
The Servo Skulls effect (blinkring red Crosshair on Enemies) is increasing their Damage taken. Combined with the increased Penetration of Vengeance Stormbolter, you'll be taking down your Foes rather quickly, aiming for the head. Eldar affected by Servo Skulls die within 5 Shots, Nurgle Chaos Marines in Daemonforged Armor should be cheese within 1 Clip.
The downside of this Kit is that its lacking assault capabilities, due to lack of Grenades. And well... Vengeance > 30k Supply Drops. Will test regular Stormbolters.
Placing a Servo* Skull in a wise Way, out of range of Fire and Explosives (as its destroyed by those), allows you to turn around Firefights. Additionally, an Enemy getting downed while effected by your Servo is netting you an additional 50 XP for Debuff Assist.
