been on/off a lot in EC the past months, just couldn't stick to the "play 1 match, disconnect/crash the 2nd match" rhythm. seems to have gotten better lately tho!
really weird to think that i shared the same virtual spaces with a handful of others for long enough that i can recognize individual typing styles or that a username evokes a certain persona, with character traits and whatnot derived from the contents of hundreds of forum posts...
some grew close, some... let's say i'm happy they don't frequent these places anymore.
others, well... it's still kinda heartwarming when you log on after 2 months and they're here like nothing changed, showing they haven't forgotten you, sharing the love by means of insults and rage in the after-match chat.
Coming home after a hard day at the factory and producing industrial goods, getting on EC, with its tendency to crash is a tough Challenge. Even more so when Insomnia Strikes and you pull shifts on >5h of sleep.
And yet, getting on EC, joining the 9/10 Squad and charging into fights with people left and right shooting, clanging, dying and all that while half the room is constantly exploding, races a rush through my skin and body that i dont feel often anymore. The tension of watching the clock go down, as the bar is 90%+ filled, and the final Seconds decide. Those are the best.
If only i wouldnt suck so much at the whole killing the Enemy part, it would be even better :D
Sure had a great time here!
With a new WH40k game coming up it might come in handy.
Also, post-match chat must have had the best trash talking I've seen in years... even though I haven't played in a while. I still lurk around here to see how the last of us are holding up.
:(
nobody really picks up on toxic bait anymore besides the few fragile lsm roleplayers like 1st. :P
you should come play a few games again, the matchmaker doesn't look for 8v8 anymore to start a game. only rule in place is no outnumbering by >3.
matches start with 1v1, which means all races are played at all times, and you can basically chose who you wanna fight.
LSM do still outnumber everyone else, but there's much more matches happening simultaneously.
Bought it over the years with its dlc's and grinding my way through it.
You know, its all over this feeling again of "I need more cards."
