You're right it's hard enough to keep a single game running lol. Once in a blue moon I log in and there's 15v15 Orks vs LSM, don't know who is getting that started. MYST all group up to play Eldar too often when they could have been an Ork clan instead. It's tragic.
are you ignoring the "get on discord" part of my comment on purpose? get on the main server and you'll get pinged when an ork game starts. you'll usually also get pinged on the "orkyfort" server. my dudes all the tools are at your disposal, most of y'all just don't wanna pick em up even when presented on a silver plate lmao. that's what's truly tragic.
My point was why get Eldar games running so often when Orks are clearly way more fun. People must like playing Eldar? They should like Orks. So I mentioned it here. I'm sorry I didn't do everything in my power to make people like Orks.
if you'll allow me to start over, i'll rephrase my comment ^^
the matchmaker needs 8 orks in queue to pull opponents into a game.
convince 2-3 people to queue as orks in order to make the ork queue look "attractive".
then ping the ork role (or WAAAGH role or whatever they call it) on both the main discord and the orkyfort server, specifically stating that you have 3-4 already in queue.
this will attract a bunch of other players over the course of a few minutes.
i've started the ork rotation numerous times this way; in fact every time you see orky action it's because someone pinged them on both discords.
it works the same way for eldar, except that they already have a semi-dedicated group of MYST players that will start the eldar rotation from time to time. they usually also ping on main and webway discords.
thinking about it, most of the people that play eldar are either dedicated eldar players or are willing to hop on eldar as soon as the call goes up, even if it means waiting for a while; whereas the people that play orks aren't really dedicated to the faction (and prefer safely playing matches on lsm/csm over waiting in queue as ork).
key elements:
1. have a few players on hand that will queue with you
2. ping the respective faction on discord, letting them know you already have people in queue
3. patience. it will take a while to attract more players due to super low population in general. and when you have enough people, you still might be unlucky and have to wait for a match to finish in order to free up opponents for you. can take up to 15-20 minutes.
as to why eldar are more "popular":
i think you might be drawing the wrong conclusion here. they aren't "more popular" than orks - the fact that eldar get more games simply comes down to them having more players dedicated to, well... actually launching the eldar queue. orks always have been kinda lazy and/or way less organized in that regard imho.
both factions are hated equally by dedicated lsm/csm players tho ^^
Me too lol, I'm really just madposting because my first character was Ork and now I never get to play it. Good advice though maybe I will be more proactive in getting some Ork games, maybe on the weekend.
unfortunately that was at 4am my time xD
