The game has a lot of good aspects, and I had a lot of fun, too.
A pile of human waste is also something. The main difference is that you normally get payed to get rid of it, meanwhile with EC you were expected to pay to receive it. You were expected to pay for it and love it if you don't want to be called a hater by some delusional people.
Do agree target and promises weren't met.
No argument there, nor am I defending practices.
But still sometimes what some call a piece of crap, others do like to ride around in.
Not because it is fast, or reliable.
But because we somehow have a connection to the idea. This is why people usually ride oldtimers. Or why people dress up as Hellboy.
But do refer me to another game that lets me play a Dire Avenger, or a Striking Scorpion, or even an Ork. And I would gladly switch.
For Space Marine fans, sure, there are better games.
Sadly for Ork, Eldar and Chaos Space Marine players, this is probably the only fps like experience. Not playing it for the best fps experience though, I mean, all I do is fight tyranids in horde mode on my own. xP
But it is good doing it as an Eldar. And I am still enjoying it. Guess it is the same for OP.
Do wonder if there is any way fighting tyranids with melee based classes..Just.. So many of them.
Yup. Pretty much this.
It's easy to complain about this game if you're a space marine ♥♥♥. There's plenty of space marine games out there.
You could probably have more fun by putting on cardboard armor in real life and pretending that you are a Dire Avenger yourself. Probably gonna be more immersive too.
It's a shame that there are still next to no good 40K games (especially ones that aren't 100% loyalist-centric), but it's not like you'll be able to conjure them into existence by rewarding the trash that's being pushed onto you. You'll just continue to be exploited while not getting any good games.
It is the best fps that lets you play a Dire Avenger or Ork, and sadly, that bar is very low.
However I do think even if a game isn't perfect, you can enjoy it.
Doesn't mean I will throw loads of money at it, actually got it at a steam deal, and not having it in mind as being the best fps game but just as a "Cool, I can play as an Eldar in this game."
Just to get a bit of inspiration.
There are a few things I do like, and I do think being constructive is good.
It helps, even if it is very bad. Like for example, how the Shurikan Catapult sounds, really gets you in that mindset of "Hey this fires razor thin disks that clatter against surfaces."
And I don't think I am allowed to fire such disks into cosplayers who choose to wear gear of different factions.
Yet I do get why you think this game is bad, I do agree with a lot. Yet you do not seem to understand, or care to understand, that there are bits in it that can be enjoyed by non-loyalist starved for any game experiences featuring either their faction or at least something else then spess mehreens. Is this correct? Cause I fear then there would be no bridge to build between us on that subject and it would be more fruitful talking to a wall.
I mean, for critique on this game? Loads of other threads to spill salt.
I am however, very anthousiastic about games like Darktide. If only..
I just wish people expressed that opinion without feeling the need to have a go at those who don't share it. That opposite opinion is just as valid and does not automatically make you a "hater" or any other similar derogatory term. Especially when the product in question is objectively low quality.
I really enjoyed the game, I can give you a bunch od reasonable reason for it, I have a high IQ and I am known for giving a lot of critics in my RL enviroment.
I respect that you have opposit feelings for the game for your own reasons. I have such games myself. But I decided for myself to avoid them completly and to spend my time with the games I really like.
Ok man
I don't have a problem with the game being bad, I can just ignore such games. I do however have a problem with how developers handled it and with people making excuses for them.
Also thanks for calling Russia first world, not many people would be so generous.
But we HAVE to agree with random haters on the Internet... BECAUSE!
I had fun too. I never expected it to be everything that so many others demanded because I can read. When they said that an MMORPG wasn't possible with the current level of technology, unlike many who spammed the forums demanding whatever, I accepted that. I didn't LIKE it, but I had some fun in a lobby shooter environment.
For what it was, the game was fun at times and no matter what any random person on the internet may say, I DID have fun. There was something 'wrong' about enjoying the executions in the game, but it was so much fun on occasion.
The publisher was and is slime in my opinion even before they blatantly plagarized another game that they took half the staff from this one for. The devs got the blame of course, but they don't generally have a lot of power in corporate boardrooms. Richardson's blatant misleading of the playerbase didn't help matters, nor did the Steam page that no one updated.
Yes, the game had problems. Yes, the company publishing it didn't BOTHER explaining a lot. Yes, Richardson was slime or acted the part.
But ALSO yes, I had fun playing LSM, ORks and Chaos. Less playing Eldar, but that was just my playstyle.
