Actually amazes me how many new people were joining, because Without new players matches have crawled to a halt. Still a few matches, not as many as before though.
I wonder if they even knew the game was going under before buying it? I mean, they won't be getting a refund if they played longer than an hour. Steam's very picky about how they handle refunds.
at least i hope nobody bought the "premium" version in the last couple of months
That's the thing that really pissed off a lot of people.
Folks like me pre paid. Then come the launch they announced it was f2p.
to get into early access
payed money for a privilege, was totally fine with it going f2p at some point.
all expenses considered i got about 13 hours of entertainment for every buck i invested in EC. that's my singular case but i'm sure i'm not the only one.
to answer your original question tho, yeah i played before and still play. we used to have daily matches during a 8-10 hrs time window. weirdly enough we had a steady influx of new players for years (gone now since u can't install the game anymore if u never owned it), and a die hard core of veteran players.
the recent announcement drove a huge amount of players away, unfortunately - now we struggle hard to start the daily match rotation.
So, maybe if your spamming all comms, and tell people PVE can get you easy achievments quickly, you can get some action going, all four factions can do Pve.
not that it would make any difference (besides getting this thread locked i guess) but here's the changelog for the loyalist faction tactical class taken directly from mod discord:
- Reduced LP costs for Melta bomb from 200 to 150.
- Increased LP costs for Servo skull from 150 to 200.
- Reduced LP costs for MS combat knife from 50 to 30.
- Reduced LP costs for Flexible Generator (30 armor and armor regen delay 30%) from 330 to 300.
- Reduced LP costs for Overcharge Generator (50 armor) from 350 to 330.
- Reduced LP costs for Seal of the Tacticum (stamina regen delay 30%) to 100.
- Reduced RPM for Stalker bolter from 100 to 70.
in case you meant the devastator melta, here's the devastator changes:
- Changes for Devastator class:
- Reduced LP costs for Devastator's Will( health +50) to 250.
- Reduced LP costs for Seal of Devotion( health +10) to 50.
- Added Krak Bundle.
- Added AutoCannon. Only with chapter Relictors.
as you can see for yourself, no stat changes to any heavy weapons, and no changes to melta guns.
and pretty pretty please don't tell people to queue PVE, it's been hard enough to get PVP matches started already, no need to send people away xD
I tried pointing out issues with the game in the official forum and here but the fanbois really made it hard to be heard and also I got the impressions that the devs didn't really listen to the critics either. I watched the live streams and had a little hope. A shame that it went the way it did. It didn't even deliver on being a arena shooter, with performance issues, console aim and bugs. I liked the character design though, but it was just not enough. A good game idea that ended up in the hands of the wrong company.
dude, we had daily matches up until and including last month. daily. matches. timezone issues maybe? certainly not "no one played".
how on earth did the livestreams give you hope o_O it almost physically hurt seeing 3 guys that had nothing to show for doing these forced streams like "yeah we didn't really make any progress on anything, but here's a dev playing a bit and here's our community manager asking what to do with her pet bird. oh yeah, terminators are coming, they are not fully ready yet but coming. oh and this here is a map that a guy from the team has been working 9 months on but ain't really ready either. coming soon tm. i'm also planning to get started on planning how to get a new publisher."
and nathan thinking he's funny when all he's doing is being a sarcastic PoS to the people that payed for this.
a heckin wild ride if u ask me
Whenever, there is a failed attempt. There will be a successful attempt. Hopefully, we can see that within the next few years in another title that isn't imcomplete before release eh?
