it's been brought up multiple times over the last years.
you'd think people have enough common sense to understand that a software developer is not gonna advertise with a 4 year old product on their front page lmao
but whatever
Looks like someone needs fact check or actually have a look before spouting nonsense.
I can attest to the OP since when I took a look at their full portfolio of games, EC was missing, it is obvious that they want to pretend this game never happened.
Thinking otherwise is just ignorance at best, stupidity at worst.
yet, people have pointed out that bhvr was trying to "hide" their involvement with EC before, when it was just a matter of scrolling far enough on their old site.
b) it can be argued that any game they made is less of a failure than EC, thus a more sensible choice as front-page for a portfolio, don't u think? ;)
c) they still link to EC related press articles, if you wanna insist on your claim that "they want to pretend this game never happened".

THEY DIDN'T BURN ALL EVIDENCE
It was just like here. the game was active - then... not. They sold it very widely. Free weekends. HumbleBundle - but they didnt do the F2P mistake they made with EC again. Then they cut all support and communication with the last statement being the final shutdown date.
Some mingling been heard about EC devs been put to work on Dedgarden. Shortly after release when we still had that great 10 Years Plan-thing...
And Dead by Daylight is the only Game that is actually their own "in house" work they seem to be profiting off.
I think there was some irony in there though, something about they first made it, then sold it, then purchased the Studio they sold it to and now release it as their Publisher?
You proved me wrong, maybe they haven't brushed it fully under the carpet, but whether it was incompetence on their part or what, we don't know.
Though still going to hate on them
we can agree on that lol
nah mate i didn't "prove you wrong". they obviously decided against linking to EC in any convenient way, it's probably safe to assume they didn't "forget" about it bcs they released thousands of titles in the meantime or something.
whatever happened back there and then, someone with executive power decided that any further cent invested into EC is not gonna make any return. that includes paid employee time for EC customer support.
that decision must've been founded on numbers, data and statistics we simply don't have access to in order to comprehend it, and it must've been the most sensible decision for the company from at least an economical standpoint. but it sure wasn't based on "comicbook-esque" villainy, an amusing yet phantasmal idea that a few forum dwellers seem to have gotten caught up in lol
bhvr did a ♥♥♥♥ move, especially considering there never was any official statement about pulling every resource off EC.
they stumbled from one bad decision into the next from the day it became clear they wouldn't reach miguel's goals.
i've been around a while now and have seen plenty of similar posts, so you'll have to be lenient if my (and others') first reaction is rolling their eyes lol
someone pointing out how and where bhvr failed them/us is just spending time and energy on stuff that everybody knows already, while propagating the negative, hateful atmosphere around EC (that i frankly am not a big fan of) - and it just raises so many questions lol
what new information does this post bring? anything useful or helpful? anything at least worthy of discussion? not if u ask me
it's been 4 years now, are those folks never going to get over it? is a failed game really such a impactful force in their lives? are they gonna dwell on this for another 4 years?
Ha, it has nearly been 5 years for me since I started playing this game, and I still ask myself the same question.
I feel like we will always ask the same questions due to the relative failings of many GW titles, from EC and DoW III, to Man o' war: Corsair (Though at least we have Vermintide). So when we come back to those games and see what the developers/publishers have done (or more like, have not done) with it, you must forgive people for expelling their hate.
As to how long they will dwell on this game? Until a worthy successor fills that hole in our hearts (which probably means they'll take it to their graves).
