Lol what? Are you kidding me, the fans are the reason the game lived for so long. No, the fans did not kill this game BE killed the game by not having a clear vision of what it is that they wanted to do and by having ♥♥♥♥ balance for so long. People posted for months about Elder being broken an Orks being Up, and BE in their finite wisdom decided instead of trying to fix it, they would rather just ban people from their forums for pointing out the obvious.
Skip a few months later, surprise surprise, Eldar could no longer find games. Because people would leave their games or dodge queue; I know I sure did. You literally had to discord that ♥♥♥♥ to make it happen. Then it happened to orks, now most of all the games for NA have to be pre-planned, because only SMvsCSM happen consistently.
And that was back in 2017-18, goodness knows how things are now.
But hey, I'm sure it's everyone's fault to slapped 60 bucks on the table.
Thanks man, my sides are in orbit.
For RoR - There was a Discord crackdown like 2-3 years ago about how the head mod did undocumented changes/buffs/nerfs to classes outperforming their Witch Hunter. Players and other GMs being harrassed. Lots of nasty "Behind the Scenes" - All in all i can see it happen, but stuff like this happens in most privately ran servers. Currently the biggest thing in the way is this "Terms of Service"-Thing. Edit: dug it out - 2h Q&A - http://ohrhammer.online/wp-content/uploads/RoR_Q&A_Session_No1.mp3
1. Really ? your scolding and schooling me on Eldar ?
2. Orkz ? really ? again as if I've never stood up for Orkz.
3. Balance is achieved by knowing the strengths and weaknesses of all 4 factions, and then teamwork is needed, knowing how the game is played, the objectives the time clock.
I cannot get into uncontrolled fanbase , its a taboo subject. but I have had my share of locked threads in May and I could debate the merits for weeks, months , years. Its best to have a neutral Referee only worried about collecting money and keeping us happy. I would point out to an old timer like you, that the Eldar and Chaos Marine dev's had a personal competition/pissing contest and thats why they launched so complete, and thats why when the Eldar Dev left, the Eldar got a double nerf. The CSM never got a nerf, they had weapon damage adjusted down some, but have never suffered total nerfs like Eldar Orkz and Space Marines.
I understand why some fan made creations are prohibited in this game due to GW and stuff like that.
But hearing these promises about tank battle maps, terminators and all other akward things...
Fans would do it in no time. Check how many 3d model and programmers EC fanbase have, and you will be sure.
All these warhammer videos aint nothing. And ec got fair chances to live anew, not sure for how long tho. Also if people see community that eager about 40k online, some other studios might want to make another game. Analitics are global thing after all....
Space Marine is just about a decade old, Where are all these player made six million dollar efforts that would be so much better and be for free, free for all, free free free, and so much better.
Broken promises.......This wasn't some Bimbo who left at the alter and kept the diamond ring, this was called a buisness transaction, it was a leap of faith, and its been a few years. I'm sorry if you spent more than the 50 or 60 I spent on my pre order, but I had already been down that road with Space Marine and a dozen other games before that. Fools and they 're money are soon parted, its sucks, sue or move on.
