I've been able to get in some LSM matches last 2 weeks and I've seen some new Shield Bro's kinda struggle versus weapons fire. The shield will only protect you for so long as you try to get into lunge range, and you have to watch thier feet as you move at them, if they are walking backwards they know the Walk backwards/shoot/block/kick/chop chop to the head routine. When or if you get close your nearly dead, then stunned and finished off. Very few ways for A non Ranged ability class to return fire on targets beyond 2 seconds away.

1. drop your medkit

2. replace it with a frag grenade, learn to snap throw grenades, not easy but practice it.

3. throw a grenade to make them roll, stop shooting you and break aim

4. you have about 1 second during thier roll to decide your move, can you sprint closer before they are back up, will you be near enough for a lunge, will your shield hold long enough if your not.

5. if you think you can make it, the second your grenade moves them , drop your shield and sprint but also go sideways, A or D this will make them need to re aim as they stand up.

6. there is no shame in a retreat to get a better position, they have a gun, you don't. Be aware of where you are, pillars, box piles, debris or doorways, use them . yes they got grenades too, maybe, BUT if your not dead the closer they get to you, the more to your advantage.

7. watch out for CSM vets with stormbolters or melta guns, if your not a level 5 or 6 yourself, they got you on health and armor, and might back up while shooting you, increasing time and space for them, while ready for a kick/stun.

8. just in case you have LSM teamates nearby, and they can be bothered to look around and maybe help out, think about the angle of fire they need to assist you and try to turn the enemy to it, while not getting yourself in it. this is very hard, the game is set up so its easier to miss an enemy and hit a teamate. at least in a melee scrum.

9. Grenades still airburst in Melta Fire.

10. Shields dont protect from Melta weapons (including Napalm Kannon), Stream of Corruption (CSM) or Destructor (Eldar). Heat and Poison Ailments still build, Destructor is like normal gunfire, beside the Shield doesnt block it.
Not sure about Flickering Fire and Lash.
If the mechanic stays the same for Jinx/Warp Instability, the Shield will just melt.

11. Theres nothing like running at a Shieldwall, throwing a Krak at 2-3 GA next to each other, and keep attacking them till suicide Bomb. (Worked 3 times in a single match for me, taking along basically the Defenders of Stairs on C, Maggon.)

12. Theres nothing like sticking a Krak Grenade up on someone and see it do the magic trick

13. Not sure if it counts for Warlocks/Sorcs, but all non-Assault classes suffer from a shortened Bash time. While Assaults can basically Stun > Heavy, most others cant. (I remember the days Bash was equal length for all classes, and Multi Melta Devastator could face GA directly and win.)

14. Sometimes striking into a Gun being fired at you can be beneficial.

Thats all i can think of that should be added. Hope you dont mind i did.
