FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Where did you find out this information though? i cant find anything on their patreon
It must have been a Patreon subscriber only post then. It was under one of their most recent comments about the future of Winged Cloud. If you agree to contribute to them it will show up under one of their comments about their future plans (including talking about Sakura Dungeon).
I also asked if they would consider doing a Kickstarter for the sequel as I knew that there were a lot of fans who would be disappointed, however, they never responded to that.
The only possible hope left for us now is to somehow drum up support so that they may decide that the sequel may be worthwhile and that they won't take any losses (or more if they have already taken some).
They say they can't take losses yet I question why they would release garbage like SF: Beach, Beach 2, and Santa
They don't want to develop a game that they already know they will take a loss for as direct sequels for VNs usually sell less copies than their prequels (as you need to read the first one to understand the second).
Sakura Dungeon has been selling well to my knowledge too, and rightly so. That game is worth it.
Like really, are they also basing their sale numbers from the initial release period for about a few months, or all the way up to now? Most casual people like myself will always wait for discounts (at least 50% for me) before getting stuff like this, and Fantasy was no different. But yea I was really looking to eventually Fantasy 2... for the story line ofc ;p
13.3k is not even a lot of revenue for a business. 1 employee @ $11/hour, costs $1,760 excluding mandatory benefit payments. So a staff of 5 employess, which I am guessing Winged Cloud employs would be $8,800 per month. Then there is software fees (adobe creative cloud, etc.), outsourcing of music, rent (if they even have an office), and other costs which add up. I wouldn't be suprised if Winged Cloud used all of their pateron funds to cover operating expenses. Lastly, even if they were somehow magicially (but impossibly) pocketing it all, splitting the profits 5 ways, 30k per employee is not a large salary. So if you did want to use its revenue as an indicator of its size, it should still be considered a small business.
Most businesses that want to survive need to do so earning far more than 10k a month unless it is on the micro scale (i.e. meaning one employee).
