Failed to log in to the Dark Souls 3 game server
Hi, I'm from Malaysia and had this game on 12/4/2016.

The first day it launched, I get the error saying that 'Failed to log in to the Dark Souls 3 game server." I'm like okay, maybe it is on the first day and the server is overloaded and blablabla.

Now is 14/4/2016 and already 3 days since the game launched and still failed to log in.

I already turned off firewall, restart my modem and run as admin, but still no luck.

I'm already at level 82 and still playing solo. Man, I need my sunbros, I can't bear this burden alone.

If anybody have any fix regarding this matter, would be great. Thanks.

I have the same problem. I think something in my network blocked connection to their server. Seems like there is only a minority of players having this issue. Not sure they will do anything to fix.

has anybody found a fix ?

I think everyone stop looking already. Only a small number of players have this problem so there is no fix.

There has to be a way to fix it.

NA here, I'm having the same problem. If I turn my router firewall off completely I can connect. For obvious reasons I would prefer not to do it this way. There must be some ports that need to opened, if we could get a list of those it would be very helpful.

For those who would like to use this workaround I will detail the steps below. (This will be general and may vary depending on your router/modem. I have an Xfinity modem/router.)

Note: There is most likely already an exception made for dark souls iii on your computer's firewall, but to be sure you may disable the firewall for the time being to be sure, if you do not know how to check for the exceptions.

What you will need:
your default gateway IP
your router login/pw (default is usually admin/password , if this doesn't work either contact your network admin or google your router model for the password) Note that this is also a good opportunity to change this information to more secure your network.

To get your default gateway IP address open a command prompt: windows button/search type "cmd" press enter
once in cmd type "/ipconfig" press enter
look for default gateway the ip will be to the right probably or but it can be just about anything

once you get this open your web browser (chrome, firefox, explorer, edge, whatever) and type the number in and press enter
you should now be prompted for a login and password login using the appropriate credentials as detailed above. (if you are not directed to your router software then try a different browser)

once logged in you are looking for your firewall and your goal is to disable it all together.

WARNING: In my opinion this should only be a temporary solution as opening your network to allow all traffic is pretty much the number 1 security risk i can think of when it comes to your home network. You are not going to break anything by following these steps. You are however opening your network to potential threat. So, do this at your own risk. I for one am playing in offline mode until I can get the required settings.
If nothing else though, you can try this and if it works you will know where the problem lies if it does not work then you will know the problem exists somewhere else and can investigate other potential causes.

If you have previously been able to log in to the game server on your network (and haven't changed anything) then I don't think you are being blocked by a router firewall. Although there is no reason to not try it.
To be clear, I have not been able to log in to the servers once despite trying an absurd amount of times without opening up the firewall. When using the workaround I connect instantly without error every time. My friend came in from out of town and is staying with me. He had been playing at home without issue. When he arrived he was unable to log in to the servers as well. He brought the same laptop he uses at home. This pretty much confirmed for me it was a network issue.

I finally got it to work... by connecting with a wired connection instead of wireless.
it seems the game wouldn't connect from my wifi network, even though other games have no trouble doing so.

i have a wired connection to my router and i still can't connect to the server.

tried 2 different pcs, this sucks. tell me which ports to open, im not gonna let my whole home network be susceptible to viruses and hacks just to play dark souls.
