As far as i know, he only invades you once, but you can encounter the "real" Tsorig after the Basilisks. Is the Demon King still alive?

Step 2: Kill Tsorig(sweet vengeance)
Step 3: Go find him by the lava pool after quitting and reloading your save.
Make sure you're embered of course and haven't killed the Old Demon King otherwise he's gone.

If you run past the frogs and then turn left, you can encounter the "real" Tsorig, and he will drop the gesture, the ring, the shield and the sword.

You don't need to get killed by him to get the gesture.

Killing the Old Demon King does NOT make him vanish. I've never been down there before killing it, and Tsorig is ALWAYS there, because it's the actual NPC, not a phantom.

The phantom Tsorig in the Catacombs won't spawn if you already killed the boss (Spook Lord), much like all of the other phantom invasions. The real Tsorig in the Demon Ruins will be there even if the Demon King is dead though, and you don't even have to be embered. I'm actually not sure if killing the real Tsorig gives you the emote, I remember killing him on my first char first try and I don't remember whether I got the emote or not. Best to just let him kill you once.

The key to getting rid of the basilisks is getting them one by one. Sneak and try to draw aggro one at a time. If you get too many on you, just run, I guess. I actually recommend trying to kill Tsorig right there by the lava pit, he can potentially be stupid enough to walk into the lava and just die. In fact you can make him FOLLOW YOU into the lava, after damaging him enough. You'll probably die, but he will too because, according to the wiki, "his desire to gesture at your death overrides his will to live."

I got the emote by killing the "real" Tsorig, i never encountered the phantom, neither did i die to Tsorig. You get it.
