Is this cube world?
I haven't bought the game, I'm just wondering. Is this game like cube world? Or is there something special about this game?

Damn you for reminding me of Cube World!!!
I've been dying for that game to finally be released. Or at least those of us who bought it to be able to get an update. :p

Apart from it looks exactly like cube world and the store page promises countless features that are in Cube World.

So maybe you could be a little more specific.

looks exactly like cube world? I think you need to play that game again. It looks nothing like it. Looks closer to skysaga that used to be in development but isn't now.
But I don't see how it's different. I was hoping that someone could explain the differences, if any, rather than people saying it isn't and then not explaining why.

For one, this game is split up to islands, cubeworld was not. Cube world also used a block system similar to Trove. So if you really want to compare games, cube world looks/feels much more like trove than this game. This game uses islands, very similar to Skysaga did, but they were both being developed around the same time. Sadly skysaga has stopped development for now while Smilegate decides what to do with it.

This game just recently added in quests, cubeworld stopped being developed after quests were added. This game allows you to build, destroy, and explore. Cube world allowed you to explore and do some quests but you could not really destroy anything or build your own home. There are many changes, perhaps you should study more yourself. Watch some youtube videos or if you really have to be sold on the idea of this game, find another game.

Because if you have to be sold on an idea of a game based on other peoples thoughts, you probably woun't like it anyway.

Ok, thanks! I will probably leave this game then.

Development hasn't stopped on Cubeworld. There's actually a TON of stuff that's been added, and there's a lot still coming.

He posts regular updates on his Twitter.
He stopped using the site because of all the DDOS attacks on it by idiots. It was too much work for him to try and keep the site running with all the attacks and work on the game, so he decided to just work on the game.

Well looky there :) last post in july but still... better than nothing. That actually gets me excited!
LordBlade 4 Thg11, 2017 @ 6:57am
Well, he has added some massive things over the last while, and I know he's started on some larger additions lately. That's how his feed tends to go. You'll see weekly or monthly updates of little changes and additions, then he'll go silent for a couple of months and come back with something like the completely overhauled city sytem or map system.

But considering it is mostly him working on it solo (with a couple of others helping on specific things), he's been doing some amazing work. I know it will be worth the wait... it's just the waiting that's damn hard. lol

As much as I'd love to give Wollay the benefit of the doubt here having backed the project and all... I'm sorry, but the backlash he got was partly his own fault to for refusing to keep people up to date to begin with. That being said.. I don't condone attacks like DDOS and other such ****

Still, Cube World was a delight and I wish him the best, but somehow I have a weird feeling once an update finally drops - IF it ever drops, we won't be able to just run grab it. We'll more likely have to go repurchase it. Hope I'm wrong, but expectations are not high after... what... three-four years of complete silence?
LordBlade 9 Thg11, 2017 @ 3:47pm
Well, he was basically working on the game full time and posting updates when he could. He even told people that as he worked on more complex systems for the game he'd be making less update posts. But apparently some people took that to mean that he was abandoning the project and decided to try and ruin all his hard work. Which basically just ruined everything for everyone else.

So now we get tons of updates on what he's doing... but no more game updates until it's finished.

And anyone who bought the game previously will still have the game. You can still log in to the game website and download that first early alpha. The full game will be up there once it's finished. He's just not going to put any updates on there until he's 100% done now.

It's not been years of complete silence. He stated during the DDOS that he'd be making constant updates on his Twitter account, which he has.
