Linux Port?
I'll buy it as soon as it's ported. Thank you.

As someone who uses Linux a lot more than Windows, this would be appreciated!

We're looking into a Linux port! It's not a quick job, sadly :(

Any plans for a Linux version since then? There is a port of AGS on Linux (and I think Humble and/or Wadjet have their own version, so they might be able to help) and last time I checked, BTDT worked while TGP didn't because of a missing lib (it might have been fixed since then or can eventually be fixed more or less easily with access to the source). I don't think it would require that much work to port the games to Linux.

Size Five would love to support Proton, and Linux in general, with these older games but it's not financially viable at this time unfortunately. Maybe if the new Dan and Ben game, Lair Of The Clockwork God, does well enough we can do a full remake of the older games with support for Linux but right now it's not possible, sadly.

The game works perfectly with proton for me. Has to be windowed rather than fullscreen, and occasionally if the game doesn't open I have to stop the wineserver process, but other than these quibbles both TGP and BTDT work out the box in proton.

Ok, I just did my part in buying the new game. Your move. :steamhappy:

Seriously though, when I played through the first game several years ago it worked just fine with the Linux version of AGS. The second one didn't though, since it uses some AGS plugin ("ags_nickenstien_gfx") that's not included with the standard version of AGS. It worked with Wine, though.

At least, that's how the versions I bought from GOG worked for me. But I assume the Steam versions are the same?

A quick Tip from me to all Linux User. If you install "Roberta (Native Scummvm) from the DREAMER Website https://github.com/dreamer/roberta you can play mutch AGS (Adventure Game Studio) Games on Steam with a less of configuration, since the AGS-Engine are integrated in Scummvm ;)
I wish you all a great we

P.S. but for MIDI- Music you need the Patch from ALLEGRO https://liballeg.org/digmid.html
extract the DIGMID.DAT to patches.dat and lay it in youre $HOME Directory or direct in the Gamedirectory of the Game you want to Play. It must have 25,9MB after extraction.
Nice Time
bye
