Ben There Dan That Church Puzzle
So in level 3 in church you have to light 3 candles out of 6. I checked the walkthrough, but how you're supposed to solve this on your own?

There's bible verses on the walls in the room where you first walk in,
1 verse for each candle
Look up all the verses and youll get it no problem

It's funny you mention it. In TGP, one of the dialogues are about who is the best at video games; Ben declaring him the best except for chuckie eggs (ofc). But Dan highlights that he hasn't even completed BTDT yet, where he replies that it's too hard and he got stuck at the church bit and Dan says "didn't we all"

I solved it on my own by looking at all 6 carvings then reading all 6 bible passages and figuring out whether or not to light a candle or leave a candle. It's not the easiest of puzzles but asking how it is possible for someone to do it without a walkthrough is just assuming the entire human race has the IQ of Kim Kardashian.

We've put men on the moon...

But if you read it carefully, the question wasn't "How it is possible for someone to do it without a walkthrough" at all. Not too smart, huh...

Ok then, explain the following then...

"but how you're supposed to solve this on your own?"

Seemed quite clear to me, unless it has two meanings in English.

Yeah, I'd be interested in your answer as well. You had almost 2 months to come up with one. Or do you need a walkthrough for that?

The question was simpe: "How you're supposed to solve this on your own?"
Some enthusiast could provide bible verses with or without a little explanation. Apparently instead I got some idiot who's trying to be funny.

So while you were playing the game it was somehow not obvious to you that the bible verses and the candles were connected somehow?

And watch your language - need a walkthrough for the Steam Discussions Rules and Guidelines?

Once again, a very stupid question and a poor attempt to be funny.

I remember solving when I first played through that part, and I remember it took me a while. I thought I tried to match the verses that mentioned light and darkness or fire or whatever it was to each candle. I honestly can't remember how I did it.

I got stuck there as well. My problem was that I thought there would only be two bible verses, one from each of the column. However there are three verses per column, six in total.

After that, I guess it's pretty straightforward: Each verse has something to do with light and darkness (or wind) which indicates that the corresponding candle has to be lit or not.

1) a flame will wither his shoots -> on
2) the sky grew black with clouds -> off
3) blowing of a violent wind -> off
4) as the flame blazed up -> on
5) like the wind our sins sweep us away -> off
6) fire blazed among their followers -> on
