"Tron" makes the boss that you have to tractor beam bombs to unreasonably hard
Was unable to beat this boss because Tron's tail kept destroying the bombs as I was guiding them....

Ah! That's a good catch, one of those interacting-systems things that's hard to predict. I'll add it to my long-dusty to-patch notes, but since I'm working on other projects it'll be a long time before it sees the light of day.

Hmm. What'd be the best way to fix it? Could try and make the bombs immune to them somehow. Or maybe just make them immune to shots in general! That'd fix the frustration of them being shot at the last second.

How about a way to unequip (but not re-equip) un-wanted items in the middle of a battle?

Not a bad idea. At one point, I played around with integrating the ship modification into the flow of the shooty gameplay -- the idea being that you could blast something apart, fly up to it, and put its parts on your ship. Couldn't get it to flow, it was better to wait till the end of the battle and pick through the remains.

I've seen the same problem crop up in other spaceship building games, where the focus gets diluted between the building/shooting mechanics and they do neither particularly well.
