Post all your feedback/bug reports here. Please also include your OS version, Barony version (e.g 3.1.1 displayed in the bottom right of the main menu), and single/multiplayer (specify client or host)

2018/03/28 V3.1.2 Hotfix
  • Fix NPCs wandering around outside their designated spawn rooms.
  • Modified story backdrops to make text more legible.
  • "Inverted" logic portcullis now properly open with the 'opening' spell.

2018/04/14 V3.1.4 Pi Addition Hotfix
  • Steam Achievements are now disabled if cheats are enabled.
    • Save files persistently track if cheats have ever been enabled during a run.
    • A notification in the top-right corner of the pause menu will warn the player if cheats have been detected.
  • Updated random item drop lists for Magicstaffs of Bleed and Stoneblood, Spellbooks of Bleed and Acid Spray, Blindfold of Focus. These now appear at earlier levels. (Previously were roughly 20-25, now 15-20.)
  • Added Blindfold of Telepathy to random item drop lists, was previously blacklisted.
  • 'Steal Weapon' spell no longer 'steals' innate magic abilities of monsters. A single-use spellbook copy is made from the spell instead.
    • No longer affects boss creatures.
  • Added settings->misc option to persistently display current in-game timer for speedruns. ('keep game timer on HUD')
  • Tinned food now randomly provides +HP or +MP regeneration for 4-16 seconds, depending on quality and food description. (+HP and +MP regen have chance to occur together)
  • Added colored enemy health bars if the enemy is under the status effects of poison (green), paralysis (yellow) or confusion (purple).

  • Fixed issue where player followers could cause bosses to die and grant experience repeatedly if their collision boxes were touching.
  • Fixed rare Sokoban crash when destroying boulders.
  • Fixed issue where multiple different item slots with identical stats could simultaneously display as equipped. (Occurred with Skeleton/Goblin dropped gear like helmets/weapons)
  • Fixed issue where an item stolen by 'Steal Weapon' spell would be lost if the caster died. Now the weapon will drop on the ground if the spell was mid-animation.
  • Fixed issue where rebinding gamepad controls would display incorrect key information.
  • Fixed issue where empty sinks did not play their intended soundfile on interaction and could play any random sound clip.

2018/04/15 V3.1.4 Pi Addition Hot-Hotfix
  • Added missing language file lines for notifying if steam achievements were disabled/cheats enabled
2018/04/16 V3.1.4 Pi Addition Hot-Hot-Hotfix
  • Fixed a crash that could happen on startup with Linux clients while reading in port info from default.cfg config file.

The regeneration ring does work for most people.. are you equpping a vampire doublet as well? What does the tooltip on your CON say about HP regeneration when ring equipped?

You need both of the items to function properly? Well, I sat in a dark corner with only 3 HP, in one game for 3-4 minutes with the ring equipped and didn't appear to get any HP.

Yeah that one is unimplemented and was used as a particle animation debug stick.. might be a couple others if you look in the data files that are unobtainable.

The doublet cancels hp regeneration so thought it might be that, not sure why you're not getting HP. You running on windows?

For spells, (Unrelated to the bug) I have found a few

"Conjure Familiar" ~ Described.
How to Obtain: No way to Obtain.


"Drain Soul" ~ Fun spell, Vampires seem to be the prime user alongside shopkeepers. Very fun to use tho, not that OP Either.
How to Obtain: Use it well timed on a Vampire.


"Vampiric Aura" ~ Another Fun spell, Vampires use this one.
How to obtain: use a well timed "Steal Weapon" spell on a Vampire, possibly a Minotaur? Has to be as they cast the spell.


"Steal Weapon" Incubi use this thing, though I have found ways to legitimately obtain this spell... It is infact insanely OP, can ruin the boss fights in one hit.

[BUG] How to obtain: Get any form of magic reflection, and stand up against the Incubi, if it casts the spell, you will reflect it's spell back into it's self, usually returning this spell to you.

"Trio Missle" ~ Unspawnable (To my knowledge), but seems to be a spell list spell, seems like a certain spell...
How to Obtain: No way to Obtain.


"blank" ~ Debug item, I assume.
Obviously, unobtainable

ALl of thes can however, be spawned with commands.


Any others I missed, I know of Bloodletting, spray acid, and stone blood, but those are obtainable.

Actually, haven't been noticing health regeneration in general, now that you mention it. I've had several high level characters stay at 3-4 hp below maximum for long periods of time.

The trio spell is a in-game code modifier spell that acid and stone blood use to have their projectiles shoot out in threes. Otherwise everything else uses a "single" missile modifier.

Thanks for reporting how to obtain those spells.. very imaginative!! definitely an oversight you can steal spells

Yes, running without hunger. Didn't know that causes health regeneration to stop as a side effect.

No problem, I actually encountered it when experimenting with Incubi, I decided to use magic reflection to reflect the projectile back into enemies, to see the result, it steals their weapon, returning it to the player, I didn't think you could steal it's own steal weapon spell, but eventually I was wandering at the end of level 24, through the hallways, I walk up to an Incubi, decided to farm a bit of shield by equipping my usual mirror shield, and just letting it hit me, it begins to cast a spell, so I blocked, suddenly I had "steal weapon" as a spell in my inventory, I learned it, and it functioned just as it did for the Incubi, outside of the long cast.

I usually enjoy testing around with this game, but that was surely unexpected, and it's definitely an interesting and surely imaginantive way to obtain such a powerful spell (Which opens the way to two more spells.) I do think you shouldn't be able to steal it's own steal spell, or the spell shouldn't be allowed to steal some weapons (I.e, Boss weapons.) Still interesting and good to know, non-the-less, I'm not sure if you'd keep it or not, given it isn't also the easiest thing to execute in actual gameplay. Given I did it by accident. I would say to probably fix it(?) I just found this little bug/trick/oversight to be pretty interesting.

On that note, what happens if you acquire the minotaurs weapon with steal weapon? Is it one powerful axe?

You sadly can't steal it's weapon, it just has high-base damage, but I do think the one past the caves could award you with "Vampiric Aura", just an assumption however.


You however: CAN steal Shadow weapons!
So you can get a clone of your sword/weapon from a shadow! ... I'm overly creative with spell concepts, aren't I?

Regen was working fine previously, just not in the latest patch. Tried it multiple times (without vampire d) and it doesn't appear to have any affect at all. Will double check the icon next time.

I forgot to mention i only play the game co-op as a client, so not sure if the performance issues with the new levels is related to that.

And make sure hunger is set to ON as regeneration is disabled when hunger is off
