Ask the Developer!
Hi! I made Pirate Code and I'm happy to answer questions or take suggestions. Tell me what you think would make your life easier in Pirate Code. I plan to make the first update for Pirate Code a "Quality of Life" update. And of course, if you run into a bug, I want to hear about it right away!

Thanks for playing!

It's nice to see an attentive and helpful dev.
It's not clear for me when I can or cannot use the Flee option in battle.

You can flee any normal encounter on the world map. You can't flee from mission battles, challenges, and special encounters on the world map. These are essentially like boss battles. It's do or die!

You found Swift Bill... I hope you got a fourth ship!
Any ETA on next updates? I want to write a review, but I think it's worth to wait for one or more updates. That's the reason I ask.

My time since the last update (which was only 5 days ago) was taken up with the trading cards. I'll be moving forward with more changes but most of them are more time consuming so I don't expect to release anything for a few weeks. This could change if somebody runs into a game breaking bug - like not being able to advance past a certain mission. So as long as nothing like that happens you can expect it to take at least a few weeks before I have anything substancial to release.

Take your time. The first update was really fast indeed. Thank you!

Can you please add Steam Cloud support?

It has Steam Cloud support. Is it not working for you?

I uninstalled the game and when I reinstalled my save was gone.
Steam Cloud is supposed to keep your save files for later but it didn't seem to work.

Edit:
All is well, I didn't notice that you need to hit the play button, to get into the load game screen. I was looking for load game on the title screen.

It may seem silly, but my request is the title screen layout.

Instead of a PLAY button on the title screen, maybe change that button to "New Game", and directly below the new game button, maybe add a "Load Game" button.
Just an idea.
For me the performance issues are a major problem. I tried all I can. Closing all background programs, steam overlay, cloud etc etc. Forced Vsync options for my videocard.
Checking system resources (both ram and CPU not above 30%) and I have constant hickups when the music is playing. It's a constant stuttering sound.
Also it looks like every animation is running extremely fast when this happens.(The flag and the water animation).

It keeps me from playing more hours atm while I really want to enjoy the game.

That's pretty pathetic that your having performance issues with a simplistic game like this.
Hope your aware. :)

Yep, I really try to find out what it can be. I have the windows mouse constantly flickering over the ingame cursor, maybe this have something to do with it, or the game is running to fast and the music stuuters because of this? Any suggestions?
