Closed Alpha FAQ
Hey everyone! With the Immortal: Unchained closed alpha going live tomorrow, we wanted to answer some of your biggest questions in the FAQ below.

If you still have a question about the alpha that isn't covered, please let us know in the thread and we'll do our best to answer.

We can't wait to share the alpha with you and hope you enjoy playing! See you tomorrow!

What time does the closed alpha start and end?

The closed alpha will begin at 2pm GMT / 6am PST on Thursday, March 8, and run until 2pm GMT / 7am PDT on Monday, March 12.

How do I gain access to the alpha?

You can sign-up to the alpha on http://www.immortalthegame.com. If you are selected, a Steam key granting access to the alpha will be delivered to the email address you registered during the alpha sign-up process. Keys will start rolling out to those selected from 2pm GMT / 6am PST on Thursday, March 8, once the alpha goes live. You may also be able to grab a key from giveaways running on various sites.

Does registering my details guarantee access to the alpha?

While we’re hoping to provide access to as many people as possible, space is limited and we can’t guarantee access to everyone who registers. We have plans to roll-out additional keys throughout the duration of alpha, though, so keep checking your email inbox to see if you’ve been selected.

What platforms will the alpha be available on?

The alpha will only be available on PC via Steam. It will not be available on console. The final game will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC later in 2018.

What content is included in the alpha?

The alpha includes access to two locations: the Hidden Vaults, which features the game’s opening tutorial, and the frozen ice world Arden, where you’ll get to explore the Scar of the Abyss.

Will there be any character customisation in the alpha?

While there will be extensive character customisation in the final game, you will not be able to customise your character in the alpha.

Will there be any multiplayer functionality in Immortal: Unchained?

Immortal: Unchained is primarily a single-player experience. The final game, however, will include a series of challenges that offer a leaderboard-enabled competitive element. Although these challenges will not be available in the alpha, we plan to share much more information on them in the coming months.

Will my progress from the alpha carry over to the final game?

No. Progress made in the alpha will not carry over to the final game.

Is the alpha playable offline?

Yes. Once the alpha has been downloaded and installed via Steam, it will be fully playable with or without an internet connection.

What are the system requirements for the alpha?

MINIMUM:

OS: Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8/8.1 64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit*
Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q9500 @ 2.83GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770 /w 2GB VRAM
DirectX: Version 11

Additional Notes: *WARNING: 32-bit OS is NOT officially supported at this time

Please note that the game is still in development and system requirements may change for the final release.

Can I stream or upload gameplay footage from the alpha?

Yes! Once the alpha goes live on March 8, there are no restrictions on streaming or capturing footage. In fact, we encourage players to share their experiences - we can’t wait to watch you play the game!

Why are you running a closed alpha?

We’re taking player feedback seriously, and by giving you access to the game now we’re hoping to use your feedback to help us create an even better experience in time for launch. We’ll be looking at your feedback closely to help us achieve that goal.

Where can I leave my feedback on the alpha?

Once the alpha goes live, we’ll post an Alpha Feedback thread where you can share all your thoughts and feedback. Alternatively, you can send us a message on Twitter or Facebook[www.facebook.com].

I have tried signing up on your website for access to the closed testing. After playing all of the dark souls on console systems, demons souls bloodborne and the surge, and being a lover of shooters I wanted to get my hands dirty with this on PC as it looks fantastic. However when I put in my info, and go through the steps then hit send, I get this:

Could not connect to the registration server. Please try again later.

I tried again after a few hours and still the same message.

My email address is one I have been using for over 17 years, and Im 33 years old so I know its not that.

Is this just me? is the access now closed to newcomers? is this a website issue?

I would love to hear back from you, as this looks fantastic and I would love to get into something new and fun.

Thank you in advance for any replies I may receive from the development team.

It's probably because you're trying to sign up for an alpha key after they have already sent them out. Might have to sit this one out/watch twitch streams I'm afraid (or go on their Facebook page - they had a link to a site that had keys to give away).

Thats why I'm asking somewhere I should think a dev would be looking, if you click the link given in the dev post above, it does not say that alpha has stopped accepting new arrivals, it doesnt say anything accept a big button that says "Register for Alpha Access" and then it doesnt say anything after that, just tells you how to sign up, and then has another big button that says "Send" the message I receive after that doesn't tell me anything either, it just says its having trouble connecting to the regristration service, which is now full circle to why I made the post, to get a Definitive answer from the devs, not just Guesswork from myself or others who are not fully and/or completely in the know.

Hey, sorry to hear you're having issues. We're still accepting registrations and plan to roll out more keys to selected players during the course of the alpha.

I'm not aware of this issue, but I shall ask the team to investigate. Thanks for letting us know!

Hi,

Noticed that the weapons power attack (CTRL) doesn't have a key input listed in the keyboard options, pressed CTRL by accident and wondered what I just did.... anyway played some of the game and it looks interesting, definitely going to play some more and waiting for the full release with great anticipation....

here's some gameplay footage that I made.

The game's close-range targeting and melee attacks will be problematic, and will fall into the world, but it's still fun to play
Darkxeon Mar 10, 2018 @ 11:49pm
The NPC are way to passive for liking would like to see them more agro and the Targeting for me is usless and well I would like to see the npc more ds like beating the liveing ♥♥♥♥ out of you and the system that makes you shoot is bad due feel like semi auto and I am not in controll i would like to see the system being like that of any other shoot like boarderlands and counter strike

The Enemy Mar 11, 2018 @ 4:34am
When I played it all seemed so dark and the character didn't have any color, just a black figure.... I just started playing again and maxed all the settings and I have much more brightness in the game world and now the character has visible armor and all...
Has to be a bug that only with max settings you see everything
The Enemy Mar 11, 2018 @ 8:54am
You could also include so that you could switch shoulders view while aiming. so that you can better see and shoot while at an angle behind cover....

on every setting the game input felt very laggy, I had to drop everything down to off and low for the game to not lag behind. At first I thought the game was hard, then I realised that it was the lag of the inputs making it more difficult that I thought. The first boss went down like tissue paper after setting the settings to as minimal as possible. Of course with everything turned off the game looks like a grey foggy blob. :)

hi guys i just wanna let u know that the alpha is so good and i found out that when u start shotting the enemys they stop shotting at yaaa i dont know if ifs bug or posie thing thank u for the key byw
The Enemy Mar 12, 2018 @ 8:16am
I had no performance issues, except maybe two times for a second even with everything maxed out....

The "local lights" setting was off in default for me so I just assumed the game was supposed to be so dark and the character was blacked because the game is alpha version. Watched other videos on youtube and started wondering, found eventually the setting that caused the dark... That's why my gameplay video looks dark and the character is also black.

Still I have really enjoyed the alpha.

Noticed also one thing with the "final boss". If you skip the cutscene, run quickly to the farside behind the boss he wont tricker, just stands there...

Hi, The Doctor. Unfortunately the alpha has now finished, so keys may no longer be redeemable.
