Why can't I ever win a Dungeon race?
I use a guide to go quickly and still lose. Why do the dungeons have to be so unenjoyable? Makes it even less enjoyable when you just lose no matter how fast you go. Makes me wish I could just do them with racing. I been using a guide so much during these dungeons, it hardly feels like I'm playing the game but without them I wouldn't be able to play at all

For your first playthrough I recommend not bothering, it's stressful and takes away the fun.

the tutorial race is scripted so that you always lose.

the first two dungeons require you to beat them in 90 minutes or less.

the last three take 60 minutes or less.

Oh there won't be a 2nd playthrough. All the dungeons take the fun out of the game, thats why I use a guide to do them fast so I can get back to the fun part of the game. Action is fun, puzzles are not. None of the dungeons took an hour because I used a guide. So idk what I'm doing wrong but it's bs

I recommend you first hand, check your settings if the game pauses when you tab out. But just to be sure, always go into the menu AND tab out of the game when you check the next room puzzles on youtube or whereever.

But just to be sure: 1 "Tutorial" Dungeon doesn't count to the dungeon race:
- Rhombus Dungeon (Tutorial, doesn't count)
- Temple Mine (90 min.)
- Faj'ro Temple (60 min.)
- So'najiz Temple (60 min.)
- Zir'vitar Temple (60 min.)
- Krys'kajo (30 min.)

I hope it helps

EDIT: In all temples, it's only important to win against Emilie. Other characters doesn't matter

Just feels like trash with a side of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I appreciate you trying to help but I did all those already except for Krys'kajo but I'm not even sure that I want to. This game shoots itself in the foot a lot

you make it sound like it's the developers fault you ignored the warning at the beginning of the game saying "crosscode was designed with challenge in mind"
Hmm, so if I press ESC it still counts down the timer ? I beat Faj'ro in 57 min and still came in second. I thought it was scripted to lose.

Do we gain anything from doing it faster other than different dialog ?

EDIT: NVM, when I alt-tab the game still runs, I thought it auto-paused. Silly me!

Because you're too slow. What other reason would there be?

The way I did it was to make a save before every room, find a way to complete the puzzles then reload the save and do them faster. Worked like a charm.

you might have bought a game not to your taste.

puzzples and dungeons are part of this genre.

if you want pure actions there are others genre like hack n slash.

Oh I know I dislike puzzles, that's why i use a guide, i can tolerate it then lol , there's plenty of action RPGs without puzzles though. i was just salty about losing the race but it's okay i have a save to try again

I'll never understand why people who dislike puzzles keep playing this game lol i can't tell you how many times I've seen people say "the dungeons suck" and when asked why they think that the first thing they say is "i suck at them and dislike puzzles"

Literally the very first thing the game tells you upon starting a New Game is "This game was designed with challenging combat and puzzles in mind but you can turn down the difficulty" and y'all still complaining.

The combat is so good in the game that's why, action is the fun part of the game. The puzzles aren't even satisfying to solve. It's like "finally that garbage is over so I can go back to having fun". So just use a guide and turn the slider down to skip the bad parts of the game.

Sounds like skill issue

Anyone who has played The Legend of Zelda games knows that the dungeons see you solve puzzles and navigate the layout in addition to fighting enemies. Zelda is one of this game's big inspirations especially with the dungeon structure which is Zelda through and through, just that it also has a lot of modern action RPG elements to it with level ups, a genre ironically born out of combining traditional RPG systems with combat styles that came from Zelda in the first place.

Sometimes combining your inspirations can make for something unique. A lot of indie games are inspired by multiple different games but it seems like players are often looking for ones inspired by one and then get off put when the influence from another rears itself.
