Game crash when selecting Display options in menu (eye)

When clicking on the eye symbol to change the display settings in the game, it crashes every time,

I've uninstalled the game, deleted config file locations and save games (was only 4 hours in so don't mind restarting).
I still can't change any of the settings.

NM, I had to hit reset settings in that menu. I have no idea why deleting the settings files didn't work.

Oh my god thank you. I had the exact same crash trigger and resetting settings solved it! Dropped the game for five months when I couldn't figure it out, but you're a lifesaver. And now, finally... back to that swarm of laser moths!

Turns out I had used the mod the increase resolution of the game.
