Dungeon race timers
What are they? For the second dungeon, I literally made a save at the start of each room to give myself time to work out what do in the hopes that I wouldn't have to reload from the very start like I had to for the first dungeon, as well as skipping all the optional treasure chests, but nope, I still lost and now face having to redo the entire stupid thing to not be locked out of the trophy. It feels like the only way you can win is if you know more or less the exact path through from the beginning, and if you ever got lost or stuck or miss something and have to backtrack or explore for more than a few moments, there's no chance.

I havent played this for over a year. but in my experience the tutorial dungeon was impossible to beat 'elieniminator' at (or whatever her name was), but I beat her in the first dungeon after... after being stuck for over an hour because I didn't know that you could hit a flaming ice ball thing a 2nd time if you melee hit it instead of shoot hit it for that one room. That said, even if you lose the 'race', I'm pretty sure this game made its reward nothing... much like an actual mmo. you are competative with friends and guildmates, but the fact is that your self-made goals to beating them means n othing but personal growth satisfaction.

There's a trophy for beating her in every dungeon, as I already stated.

which does nothing in game I think?
do people even care about games they pay for and play anymore or just trophies? I fyou want this game for trophy food, I imagine various sub 1$ games are better.

I'm not actually sure what the timer is, but I think you're usually good even if she shows up before you? I took quite a while on either Temple Mine or Faj'ro... and I still got the trophy...

I like 100%ing games. I don't want a savefile that's permanently locked out of that. If you just want to feel smug about not caring about that, you don't need to reply.

Ok I was seriously trying to help you when I wasn't sure if you were concerned about in-game rewards, nor did I insult you directly, and if you DO want the game for trophies, there really ARE cheaper games for your desires. I don't understand that mentality, but I didn't belittle it, nor did I call you stupid, smug, uneducated, whatever. Not sure how to end this, but you offended me and I honestly didn't mean to offend you. apology accepted if you didn't mean to either. but I didn't reply to be 'smug'. I think I gave more relevant details th an most people would.

I had to backtrack quite a bit in that dungeon, and still made it through first. Probably this was due to me being too powerful - I was a few levels ahead of most enemies, and could breeze through all fights quite quickly. Maybe doing a few extra quests and upgrading your equipment can help?

As a sidenote, I don't know whether Emelie and C'tron finish faster if they have a higher level, otherwise you should probably do all XP-related things without having them in your party.

Some people want to have huge amount of achievements in general and don't care what games they get them from, however some people care more about getting all the achievements in games they actually like and enjoy.

I'm not really an achievement hunter myself, but in some games I really enjoyed I've put some extra effort to get 100% achievements. I think I'll want to 100% this game as well, unless it has some ridiculously difficult to get achievements which are also miss-able, then I might just not bother.

It's Emilienator, because her name's Emilie-Sophie de Belmond.
And you're somewhat wrong that you need to melee the bombs.

There will be a new game plus mode which they could not do for the main release which will allow you to start over with your current game, which should give you a chance to grab some missed trophies.

Does getting trophies help with anything at all, in-game? Can you use trophy points for something?

I sincerely hope not.

Not gonna help toxic people like you.

Implying that if someone is trying to get a trophy they should just go away and play an achievement spam "game" is indeed acting smug.

To add some actual information, after redoing the dungeon and beating her, it seems the time is less than 1h20 but more than 1h05, which seems unreasonably tight for anyone going through blind and wanting to explore in the slightest.

Personally don't think it's unreasonable as achievements here don't really give any in-game advantage. These achievements are for if you really want to 100% and if you're already aware of the achievement you can always keep a save beforehand and restart(it's how you can get the apollo duel achievement; doing that blind for the first time, you'll most likely never get it).

Redoing one fight at a time is a bit different to redoing an entire dungeon (and even while you're doing it, never knowing whether you've already failed or not until the very end). "Do every dungeon multiple times in a row or be locked out of 100%" isn't a great feeling.

You can just keep a mental timer for yourself---if you know you're taking too long to figure something out or you made too many mistakes, just reload the room. Puzzle rooms are pretty easy to pass doing this, since your 2nd time should be drastically lower(assuming you found a reliable way to solve the room). You can also just do the dungeon and then restart; either way, the 2nd time doing the dungeon will go much faster.

The only thing that might be hard to improve on is the time you take in combat, but if you're not prepared gear-wise for it, then you have to go and either do side quests/explore for treasure boxes or grind for gear at shops. You can restart from the beginning of the dungeon quickly tho if the first enemies you face take more than 2-3 mins.

It's not a great feeling to be locked out, true, but it makes it all the more rewarding for those that manage to do the harder achievements. If you're still adamant about the missable achievements you can always just set up a poll and if enough ppl vote in favor of you then the devs will prbly work something out in the future.
