Another NG+ Balance discussion
This is amazing. The entire game is amazing. I'm not complaining about the gameplay or combat is too hard etc.
I want to make a comment on the Witch Time option. It's supposed to slow down time for everyone and allow Lea to react much faster. However, due to the lag Lea experiences, Shokats (and wiccats) become exceedingly difficult to defeat. Dashing away from one almost guarantees triggering Witch Time, but it doesn't affect the shokats' jolt aura during the broken status which still seems to pull as hard and hit as often. Attempting to do anything other than run directly away from the broken shokat BEFORE getting in range of their aura will almost certainly drain Lea of at least half her HP if she's at full and all of it if there are more than one cat nearby. It also doesn't seem to slow down event timers. This is most notable in the arena where WT will be triggered frequently. Maybe they do slow down, but I don't think it slows to the same rate that the enemies are slowed so the time to defeat isn't the same without it.
I've gotten used to Get On My Level and can't imagine playing without it now. Cruising around at level 99 (or higher before the level cap was introduced) isn't as god level as it used to be and I wouldn't have it any other way. :) But being at level 99 revealed another limitation that didn't exist before. I can't fully complete a circuit node. There just isn't enough CP to go around.

Certain quest chains reward CP as well, I don't know if doing them all will give you enough at level 99 to max out everything or not, but it will certainly get close.

Currently no, but eventually yes. I think a lot of the remaining CP will come from the final faction quests, as previewed by Waves of Sand.

Good to know at least. One current quest only reward one Heat CP so that doesn't exactly help. I think there will be more quests for each circuit, but not yet anyway.

For reference, the quests that currently offer CP are:
  • The Observatory (post Promise is a Promise line) - one of each
  • Henry Trailblazing (last in the Henry line) - one of each
  • Crocus Pocus (botanics quest) - one of each EXCEPT Neutral
  • Digging Up the Past (Temple Mine equipment quest) - Neutral only
  • Waves of Sand (last Arid Breeze quest) - Heat only

There are a total of 104 CP required to fully unlock the Neutral Circuit, and 108 CP to unlock the elemental ones, leaving 6 and 10 left over respectively, after 98 levels are accounted for. Three complete sets are already available, and among 16 different eventual faction quests split across four elements, that leaves three points for each circuit still unknown.

I strongly suspect one set will come from the end of the eventual Omni Gilders quest line. It's possible that a fleshed out Round and Round quest line with some twists thrown in could give a second. And there is one other special quest line in the works that I'm aware of, which might make a good spot to place the third. On the other hand, they might also want to save some of them for post-game quests. No definitive plans for this have been announced yet.
