Hollow Knight: Lifeblood Update available on Public Beta for all!
The Hollow Knight Lifeblood Update is now available for all players on public beta!

This is a major update to the game that includes a lot of back-ported tweaks and fixes to bring it in-line with the Switch version we've been working on. Of course, we’ve also packed some new content in there as well!

Accessing Lifeblood Update
In Steam (PC, Mac or Linux):
  1. Right-click on 'Hollow Knight' in the library and click 'Properties'
  2. Select the 'Betas' tab in the window that pops up
  3. Select 'public-beta-' from the dropdown menu
  4. Download should start automatically!


Lifeblood Update Features
  • One boss has been seriously upgraded. A true challenge awaits!
  • A brand new boss with a new music track by Chris Larkin!
  • Map Markers are here! Cartographers rejoice!
  • Extras added to the Extras menu!
  • Numerous game balances and tweaks (Heavy Blow is now good... just kidding)
  • Various bug fixes
  • Additional sound effects and voices
  • Optimisations and performance enhancements


Known bugs and issues
Note that since this is a public beta release, there are some small bugs in there that we are still ironing out.

If you're going to play the public beta, we recommend backing up your save files!
These can be found at: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight

  • Sometimes when loading into the game, HP does not appear correctly. Quitting and restarting fixes the issue.
  • When overcharming rapidly, notch display may be incorrect.
  • When opening Hegemol's Gate into City of Tears (coming from Fungal Wastes), sfx may loop indefinitely (until player leaves scene)
  • The Hollow Knight .exe currently displays the default Unity icon, rather than the nifty knight-head icon.
  • Russian language glyphs sometimes display at uneven size.

For now, just let us know if you experience any bugs or issues in the comments below. We'll collate and work through them in the coming week.

That's not a problem if you can't know when you lauch Hollow knight. You do a great job with this game. thanks for the update for making us waiting less stressfull

Bug: Cant remove the markers

Placing markers with the indicated key doesn't seem to work on my end, nor does removing them. However, when using the "Enter" key, I can both place and remove markers without any issues. This is while using the default keyboard controls.

It feels like it's a bit harder to use super dash repeatedly to keep clinging to a wall, is this intended? Could also just be me remembering it wrong.
