Kickstarter funding goals
Does anyone know if there still is a chance for the last funding goals to be reached? If enough people donate that is.

Kickstarter doesn't work that way. It only allows for a one month period of donations, once per project.

While I would have loved an expansion to the Abyss, or playable campaigns for Zote and Quirrel, they're extremely unlikely to happen.

I wouldn't say extremely unlikely. There are items on that kickstarter that weren't met, but were still included into the game in some capacity. Perhaps not to the full extent that was originally envisioned, but still it leaves the door open that all of these items could show up again in the future in the form of sequels or expansions. The only thing preventing it from happening is lack of interest or support from gamers.

According to Team Cherry, the version of The Abyss we got was only the shore. If the Abyss expansion stretch goal had been met, we would have be able to explore deeper into the twisted space within the Void.

Doesn't change anything I said. There is literally nothing law-binding that prevents team cherry from releasing the stretch goal content that wasn't met some time in the future as long as they continued to receive support and they were interested in it. 'Extremely unlikely'? Unless they stated that they had no future plans to expand upon this universe beyond this initial game, the more accurate statement is 'not known' rather than 'extremely unlikely'.

I'm not saying everyone should hope for content that might not be in the works. But I'm also not saying it's near impossible. Let's be real here. We just don't know. It could happen, it might not. They're equally possible.

Wait. Zote, Quireel, and the Abyss were supposed to be expanded upon? Maaaannnn.... That's so infuriating... Stuff like this doesn't meet its stretch goals, but complete and utter wastes like Mighty No.9 do.... I wish I could go back in time to try and help, but I can't. Maybe if we're really lucky, the devs will decide to make them anyway (even if they don't come out for a while).
If we make enough noise, and they hear that there's a clamoring for more DLC, I wouldn't mind them whoring out DLC

Well I suppose if the Hornet DLC does really well, they could maybe reconsider not doing the other DLCs. Money is a great motivator too.
After thinking about it, if I had to chose one of the three options (Quirrel, Zote, or expanding the Abyss), I would probabally go with Quirrel (he's one of the better, if not the best characters in the game). If we only could get 1, what would everybody else want? (I'm thinking if money is really the big issue, we might optimistically get at least 1 if Hornet sells well)
I'd love Quirrel. Abyss was...pretty abyssal, lol. I know there's supposed to be more to it than what's currently in-game,, but the teaser of a zone that we got and the name that was already too appropriate to the design of the place makes me not that interested to see what could be in store for the place. I'd rank quirrel first, abyss second, zote last.

I'd have to go with that order as well. I'm not all that interested in Zote (despite him being my avatar. If there was a Quirrel one, I'd change to him in a heartbeat), seeing as how he just seems to be the stereotypical arrogant jerk that is rude to the MC, and even takes credit for their accomplishments (According to Bretta's story about him, he's also been spreading lies, saying we're bad (although, it could just be her symbolizing her love is for him as opposed to us now, so take that with a grain of salt)). The only other thing he has going for him is some daddy/parental figure issues. If I remember correctly, he has some dream nail dialouge to the effect of "is this enough father?" or something like that, and a couple of his precepts talk about parents (I think).

Honestly, the Abyss would be a much cooler expansion, although I definitely like Quirrel the best, mainly because of his strange and mysterious backstory, like how he is somehow connected to Monomon, and mysteriously left Hallownest, only to come back later with a wiped memory. There could be several different cool adventures that could be shown in a Quirrel DLC as well, like what happens after his dissapearence at the Blue Lake (if he's still alive), a retelling of the story from Quirrel's perspective ( pretty much telling us what he was doing while we were exploring), or a prequel showing his life before he left Hallownest (it would probably be more like his final moments before leaving Hallownest, since there would most likely be infection to fight, and maybe have some flash backs thrown in (in my opinion, there should be flashbacks/ memories like the Knight's regardless of which way the DLC would go)) \. Quirrel is probably the most mysterious character not counting the knight, so learning more about him would be much appreciated.
EDIT:I decided to look up Quirrel, and try and get some official art, but the card was the best I could find for profile pics... Whatever, It'll do. I hope Team Cherry eventually makes an official Quirrel Avatar. EDIT2: I made it look better :). Photo editing is a marvellous thing.
