Request- In town run animation as the default for outside of town
I notice the run animation in town is much more natural than the hunched over stance once you leave. Is there anyway to make this the default everywhere by swapping animation files or is it more complex?

There's a mod on the nexus that does that. Look for a mod called 'dinput8.dll hooks' that has the option to always use the casual run instead of the combat run.

Man, amazing. You and the guy who coded that little beast of a mod. Pure yes.

So was browsing through these thread descriptions looking to see if an emote mod existed, as would like to sit down when I afk on a beach. However the different running outside of town annoyed me so this is the thread I click on. So.

I download and installed that mod, odd lt it made steam update my game? but the mod remains intact. I open the game, load my save, press escape for the menu screen, hit F12

And there it is, the soloution to so many questions people ask on these threads, Yes you can use it to cheat, Ie check town run and stamina under cheats and boom, infinite stamina, which i didnt like, but no problem, as it has run only option that just changes the animation, also it gives you control of the weather, and control of the time cycle, the camera options make archery so much better as well, no longer are you totally blinded by nearby light sources.

I mean, some of the options seem redundant as if your playing hard mode for the challenge why give yourself gold? + some of the options can lead to your pawn becoming unhireable as well, would reccomend reading the nexus thread if your even considering using any of the cheat / item options other than the run animation. However the mods menu is pretty clear about what is what.

Note: for whatever reosen enabling the borderless fullscreen , then restarting the game, game just runs smoother, others noted this in the nexus thread and were flamed as is technical reosens why this mod shouldent give you more FPS, but it does. Cant be bothered to do with and without videos. but yes. It really has given me a a frames per second boost.

Set in game FPS options to variable and possibly be very pleasently suprised..

So if you want to be able to alter carry weight, give yourself gold (why though, as challenge is king) control the weather, control the speed time progresses (fun to play with at night as you can see the stars speed up and slow down as you switch it about) not look like a weird hunched up thing outside of town, and just have a host of options to play with, some of which it must be noted should only be used for offline play.

This is THE mod. It literally does lots of the things that people are asking for in this forum.

Mr Chaos915 and the nexus genius that coded dinput8.dll hooks , I salute you both.

I'm not seeing anything in the nexus called that. All I find are mods for unlimited sprint and similar BS.

It's one of the top files :P
Thanks. I don't know what happened that it didn't show up when I opened the nexus last time. Yet for some reason the search for the mod name didn't pull anything up (hens why I asked here).

Alternatively you could use cheat engine to modified run animation. I believe there is DDDA table for that in CE forum.

This is true, but in my own experiences, the dll hook actually ends up being more reliable, easier to use, and is generally less intrusive to normal gameplay. You don't need to keep clicking an outside window if fullscreen, you don't have to load up cheat engine and the table every time you launch the game (with risk of accidentially keeping a cheat engine process in memory and getting you VAC banned from other games), you don't have to renew which process is being monitored every time you restart the game. The dll hook also provides a nice ingame clock to tell you what time it is in the game world and moves out of the way when not in use. The ability to set checkpoints and autosaves anywhere with a single button press is also nice.

wow, i thought DLL hooks was just to mess with game mechanincs like stat growth, vocations, and animations. This souds so handy just for the clock feature.
