What kind of game is CONTROL Resonant?

CONTROL Resonant is a paranatural action-adventure RPG that expands the franchise into a larger, more open, reality-warping experience. It raises the stakes, scale, and spectacle far beyond the first game, deepening combat, exploration, and storytelling into a memorable, player-driven journey.

It’s built for fans of narrative-rich action-RPGs and players who enjoy mind-bending worlds, atmospheric storytelling, and high-intensity supernatural action.

Is CONTROL Resonant a true sequel to CONTROL, or is it a spin-off?

CONTROL Resonant is a full sequel. The new title reflects the ambition behind this next chapter, as we leave the Oldest House and step into a paranaturally twisted Manhattan with Dylan Faden as the new playable protagonist.

When will CONTROL Resonant release?

CONTROL Resonant will launch worldwide on September 24, 2026*.

Pre-orders for both digital and physical editions are now open.

*Release date in New Zealand is September 25.

What platforms is the game available on?

CONTROL Resonant will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), and GeForce NOW.

The Mac version via Steam and the App Store will launch later in 2026.

How much does the game cost?

The suggested retail prices are:

Does the game support controllers?

Yes. CONTROL Resonant fully supports controllers on PC, including Xbox and PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers.

What can you tell us about the Mac version?

CONTROL Resonant is also coming to Mac later in 2026 via Steam and the App Store. We’re working closely with Apple to deliver a great experience for Mac players.

Will the game receive post-launch content?

CONTROL Resonant is designed as a complete experience at launch. We will continue supporting the game post-release with updates and improvements as needed, and we’ll share more about any future plans at a later date.

No. CONTROL Resonant is a single-player experience and does not require an internet connection to play.

Yes. CONTROL Resonant will support Steam Deck at launch.

Who is publishing CONTROL Resonant?

Remedy Entertainment.

Which engine is the game built on?

CONTROL Resonant is powered by Remedy’s proprietary Northlight Engine and internal technology.

Do I need to play the first CONTROL before playing CONTROL Resonant?

No. Both games stand on their own, each featuring a distinct journey through the ever-evolving paranatural world of CONTROL. Resonant is designed to be an easy entry point for new players.

I guess Remedy lost their ambition and creativity and decided to go for sales, focusing on couch-potato players who just want to relax with a hack'n'slash game. At least that's what I got from the trailer.

Hallo, eine kurze Nachfrage zu CONTROL Resonant: Wird es eine deutsche Sprachausgabe (Vertonung) geben oder nur Untertitel? Ohne deutsche Vertonung wäre das Spiel für mich leider nicht spielbar – ich möchte wie schon bei Control 1 und Alan Wake 1 & 2 komplett in die Welt eintauchen, und das geht nur in meiner Muttersprache.

Hi, quick question about CONTROL Resonant: Will there be German voice acting, or only subtitles? Without German dubbing the game would sadly not be playable for me – just like with Control 1 and Alan Wake 1 & 2, I want to fully immerse myself in the world, and that only works in my native language.

Schade, dass es aktuell noch keine Informationen zur deutschen Sprachausgabe gibt – selbstverständlich respektiere ich diese Entscheidung. Gleichzeitig wollte ich mit meiner Frage aufzeigen, oder besser gesagt andeuten, dass für Spieler wie mich eine vollständige deutsche Vertonung (Text und Sprache) entscheidend ist, um das Spiel überhaupt kaufen zu wollen, aber vor allem im vollen Umfang genießen zu können.

It’s a pity that there is no information about German voice acting yet – of course I respect this decision. At the same time, with my question I wanted to highlight, or rather suggest, that for players like me full German dubbing (text and voice) is essential to even want to buy the game, but above all to be able to fully enjoy it.

The Spanish dubbing of Control was quite poor. The actors were Spanish, but most of them lacked professional dubbing experience, and there were many noticeable mistakes in both conversations and cutscenes.

In contrast, Alan Wake 2 featured very strong voice acting, although it still had some mixed audio lines (I assume Epic Games’ budget allowed for a more solid dubbing production).

Will this installment have a proper budget for localization? I truly hope Control receives high-quality dubbing this time, as I would hate to be seriously disappointed again.

Will game require mesh shader like in Alan Wake 2? I hope nope. My GPU is old but still powerful to run smoothly many modern games, so won't to upgrade and it financial complicated.

It only took 'Alan Woke 2' several years to "finally break even" in terms of sales.
and then there was weird Control spinoff live-service game...

If this is actually good I'll be pleasantly surprised, but it seems to me like Remedy's talent has already long since gone these days.
