Appreciate this new build - but in order to bring rFactor 2 up to the standard it needs to be in order to compete with other amazing sims like AC, AMS, RRRE etc., there needs to be a definite focus on coherent content, series, tracks and cars.

Please don't continue ISI's insane pattern of releasing seemingly random content.

For instance :

RRRE : complete series e.g. DTM 2016
ACS : PORSCHE content
AMS : Brit Packs

...the community has largely left rF2 to die because of the lack of direction and clear updates thus far but it would be great to see this situation turned around.

I am with Ezuna. Now I am waiting for Xmas sale, so the prices drops. Otherwise I will wait a month or 3 for new patches. etc

I on the other hand don't want to buy 5 different games just to cover the different types of racing or cars. They should have focus but making it only about one car manufacturer or series seems like shooting yourself in the foot.

Did I say it should be about one series? Please read my post again and engage your brain first before hitting the keyboard...

Your examples suggest that idea. I love the insults, nice job!

No my examples in the context of my main argument illustrate that at least 3 other sims have coherent structured and focused updates. I do not conclude with any summation along the lines of, "and therefore please add lots of series to rF2 so that I can delete all the other games and just play one sim".

Again read the paragraph again and note the context and try to engage the brain.

I suspect however that you're being deliberately obtuse and want to argue because you've nothing better to do with your time so I won't be wasting any more of my time replying.

My point was made in a clear and concise manner - RacingIvySaur got it straight away so the fault is with your ability to understand and reason, not my inability to clearly make a point.

Thanks again.

Uhm... I surmise from your post you want rf2 to focus on one specific series or manufacturer and thus I'd have to go buy a bunch of different sims to enjoy different types of racing. I'd prefer to enjoy one sim with different opinions.

I understand that you only meant your post to be interpeted in one way.

Alas saying I agree doesn't really acknowledge your point, he just agrees with whatever he may have interpeted your post to mean.

So you want them to focus on what exactly ?

I stopped reading here. Do you realize that liceses for official content cost a lot of money to acquire? No developer builds a car model and deletes it few years later because it got "old". Besides, the people still enjoying the older content would surely not appreciate if their favourite car was suddenly gone from the sim. For example, the Howston G4/G6 is still a fantastic car to drive even though the model is a bit dated (could not care less).

Anyway, this is the new build thread so perhaps we should stick to topic. The new release notes are a great improvement over the obscure old ones. I just wish the content got updated as well together with builds like in every other sim which would, for example, enable new features like fuel mixture to actually work on official content.

I haven't paid that much attention to the transfer of ownership, but did S397 buy both rF1 and rF2? If not, they would not have access to any rF1 code. It would not be just simply dropping some code from rF1 into 2. They would, if rF1 is not part of the sale, have to design, engineer and test an enitrely new piece of software. This would be very similar to when ISI bought their code back from EA, The price they paid did NOT include EA created extras like the motion captured pit crew.

why would you expect more than was previously anounced? are you kidding , its been made quite clear in the blog and several forum answered by 397 what you where going to get from this update, Guess what ,thats what we goty, I am not a fan of stack car racing or ovals for that matter but one early step (as announced ) is going to make the majority of buyers or target market (USA) very happy . Later on we have been told we will get all the other content that has been requested by the majority of users ( not haters and those who shelved the game for later , boy have you guys been missing out ) Patience people . to a degree things are a little jumbled as far as series but jeez our league has had some awesome comps from a 10 round 92'F1 series to Porsche Cup sries of 10 rounds, Megane comp with plenty of tracks and an enduro series which was amazing . How much more do you want . unless your a hot lapper and then there is a ton of stuff to quench your thirst there.

Well.. apart from the free online, I can't see any improvements in Build 1108... just some little minor improvements that you won't feel when you are in the track or you are driving. For me, Build 1108 gives me exactly the same as 1098.

Now lets go to the point... they had 6 or 8 months to prepare 1108... they gave me nothing new apart from minor fixed issues that I didnt have, while other developers like Kunos Simulazioni are taking a new build each month with a lot of improvements, new features etc...

Now lets go to another point... if you think all the content, etc... is good, then: why there are 5000 people playing Assetto Corsa and only 300 playing rFactor 2?

Remember that Assetto Corsa costs more money and has about 9 or 10 DLC... but they still have 4700 more people in it...

Well... with this info you can answer yourself... rFactor 2 just isnt as good as you think. They miss a lot of the things I said in my review, and if they dont give them into the game, it will be always dead. Thats all.

the reason AC is populated atm , Its school holidays ,xmas break and a lot of kids like driving AC as it takes less to be competetive ,its had a much bigger exp[osure due mostly of late to its console release and dumbing down to make those kids enjoy it. Nothing wrong with that at all ,good on them . Probably a few mums practising driving thier shopping trolleys as well
