System to limit tactical cogitator use in single player
Hello,

There really needs to be a system in game to limit tactical cogitator use to something like a total of 30 seconds per battle.

It would make you put some thought into when you might need to use it, rather than switch it on permanently for optimal play. At the moment the I find myself just switching it on the entire match, because I'm going to use every advantage I have to win.

The game isn't all that pleasant to play permanently in slomo, I actually feel a bit weird after a few battles - like my perception of reality is in slow motion hehe.

I know a lot of people will be fine with it as is, with enough discipline to only use it when they need. But the tacitcal cogitator limit can just be an option when you start a Campaign or whatever, (tick box for unlimited cogitator).

For now I will just have to play an easier difficulty and bind the cogitator to some key I'm unlikely to use ^^.

Why do you need a tick box or a change for it? I mean this is absolutely no problem as long as you just don't use it. If you want limited use then put a watch next to the pc. I don't think arbitrary restrictions in SINGLE PLAYER add anything to the game. If you want to play different you can already do it, you are only restricting those people who don't or adding a feature (worktime for the devs) that is imo not needed.

It's Single Player. If someone wants to spam Activating Tactical Cogitators in Single Player over and over Tactical Cogitators again, then that's their busActivating Tactical Cogitatorsiness. Why do Activating you Tactical care Cogitators?

Frickin sound byte COGITATORS...

I've heard of a few people that feel they use F5 quicksave in other games too much. One solution that worked for them is to tape a thumbtack on the key and thus provide negative reinforcement which helped them refrain from using it. I think maybe 3 tacks could cover the spacebar fairly well.

They could remove it entirely from the game but then slow down normal time speed to a quarter of the current state and add a lot more inertia...
It came from a TT game involving behemoth ships kilometres long and i can 180 degree spin a battleship or completely halt it in seconds; do I really have to point out how wrong it feels to been able to do so.
Tag Cog while not being a solution at least brings back some weight to the engagements which otherwise feel like motorboats battleground.

from what i can tell in your original post, you seem to be reliant on the tactical cogitators, try just using it in sort bursts, like for special orders, dodging torps, lining up shots with torpedos, ect. I find this works well, honestly i sometimes forget about them altogether, only remebering about them when i see some torps or a ramming attack headed my way and need to get out of the way quick.

ultimatly its up to you the individual player on how much you use the tactical cogitators, i really don't see why we should all loose out on what i think is a handy ability, just because a few people choose to over use it and rob themselves of game play value

I made a mistake in like the second or third mission spamming it and wondering why I couldn't reach bombardment areas fast enough
