What Fixed My Crashes
So for the longest time I'd been dealing with crashes to desktop, we're talking like 2 years of it, I pretty much just accepted that it was how this game was and it did it infrequently enough that I could just deal with it. Frequently I was getting the error talking about exceeding the maximum allowed memory usage error when I would get an error.

Anyway tonight I did something that seems to have fixed my crashes so I thought I'd share for anyone else struggling with it.

I've got about 95 workshop addons running with this game.
The first thing I did was redownload all of them (unsubscribe / resubscribe) then I went to my workshop file folder ( \SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\362890 ) and copied all of the .vdk files and put all 90+ of them into my custom folder.

After that I unsubscribed from all of my workshop items leaving only Blue Shift, BMCE, and BMCEA in there, physically deleting any and all left over file folders and cache files left over in the 362890 folder.

Now I did this really just to do some house-cleaning I didn't think it would fix anything. But when I did a new playthrough I found that not only did the game seem to run better, but I've played over the course of 4 hours all the way from Inbound to On A Rail (extended) and still have not crashed once!

My only guess is that maybe some of my workshop addons were obsolete being added on years ago and hadn't been automatically updated with the new version of the main game? Especially the level overhauls and staff overhaul mods I think some of them were older versions which may have been why I was having so many crashes on level-load.

Anyway, it really helps me and Im enjoying the game much more now so I hope that's helpful to someone. :)

Maybe nothing has changed and you've been lucky recently; living on borrowed time now.
