I’d recommend the metro series. Not quite Half Life but it has enviromental storytelling elements.

Yes,Metro series is relatively similar to Half-Life in storytelling, but unfortunately i replayed them a lot too, thanks for the answer tho!
What about the Portal series? They're similar in setting, it has some songs that could be similar to Black Mesa's, not to mention obvious references to the Half-Life series, and that they're part of the same universe.

Garry's Mod. Providing you have Half-Life: Source and such you can complete the campaign of HL in a unique way every single time using the workshop mods & things you build to progress the story.

Also Sven Co-Op for thousands of custom maps that play like HL1.

- Doom 3: inspired by Half Life and with focus on Horror atmosphere.
- Cryostasis - Sleep of Reason (delisted): good atmosphere and story, slow FPS gameplay with some puzzling.
- Prey (2006) is sadly delisted as well.
- Necrovision might possibly fit the bill. WW1 with demons and vampires and cheesy one-liners.
- The STALKER-series is something you are most likely aware of. It's semi-open world though.
- "You are empty" is another one that is hard to find. Zombie apocalypse in an alt universe Sovietunion more or less. Kind of like HL2, but on a very small budget.
- "Adaca" if you don't mind a low budget game that is very strongly inspired by HL2, Stalker and HL. Zone Patrol mode is where it's really at imo. Semi-open world like in Stalker.

Probably forgetting some good options.
have you tried the raising the bar redux mod for half life 2 also the stalker games are good too

You may like System Shock or Bioshock. I feel like system shock would be more of your cup of tea tho.
Other games that i feel like someone that enjoys Half life would enjoy are:
Metro, F.E.A.R., STALKER, Halo CE, Star Wars Jedi Knight
I feel like the appeal for Black Mesa is not really the setting, its the lonely atmosphere and the flow of the game. Halo CE and Star Wars Jedi Knight are a bit less similar to Half Life, but i feel like their story is superior to Half Life, although as i said, the good thing about Half life is not the story, but how it is told.
At least give System Shock a try, the remaster was released on steam very recently and i feel like it is probably the closest thing to a half life game compared to everything else. The only difference is that it is definitely a bit less linear and you also have to manage your resources because they are much more scarce. If linearity is more of your cup of tea, then I would go with F.E.A.R. or Star Wars Jedi Knight, they both have superb atmospheres, although the setting is vastly different.
Thanks for the answers! Gonna try these games on next week. Once again, thanks everyone!
Though they're more simple (and shorter) games than Half-Life, I'd still highly recommend the 2 Portal games. They're made in the same engine as Half-Life 2, and often go on sale for up to 90% off. They're puzzle games made by Valve, and have some of the best stories you can experience in games today.

If you want some story based single player FPS, I was going to say Metro but you might as well try
-The darkrness (1 in PS3 or Xbox 360 emulation or its consoles, also available on xbox one)
-The Darkness 2 on PC (warning, short but sweet)
-Resistance 1 & 3, specially 3. 3 works as a self contained game and feels a lot like a Half Life 2 episode. Get a PS3 emu, really, it's that good in my opinion.
-Alan Wake (good gameplay with little evolution, story is the star here)
-All Machinegames Wolfenstein games in this order: Old Blood, New Order, New colossus. Don't go for new blood. DEAL ON STEAM AS OF NOW.
-FEAR saga. Get the first game, comes with its two expansions, you may get a good fill with just that. Too fun.
-If you liked FEAR, Trepang2 will be a good fit too.
-Get Dolphin emu and play Metal Arms!
